Oven door would not close all the way, light stays on.
First I removed the oven door - with door fully open pull the clips on the hinges all the way out, then close door as far as it will go and lift the door up and off the oven.

Then I removed the three screws on each side, that hold the oven to the wooden cabinet. I then slid the oven unit out from the cabinet about 6 inches, to gain access to the hinge receptacles.

I then removed the 2 screws that secure the receptables to the oven body, and replaced the receptacles.

Reverse steps to put it back together.

Works like a charm.

Oven temperature running higher than setting
This was easy to replace. I removed the oven door for easier access to the back of the oven. Removed two Phillips head screws that hold the burner element and disconnected the two wires on the burner element. I could have left the wires connected, but it was easier to extract the sensor with it out of the way. The only difficulty was fishing the sensor connector out through the hole. After that, easy peezy.

Oven door would not close tightly
Pulled the double wall oven out about five inches and install replacement brackets on both sides. Reinstalled oven doors and slide ovens back. Piece of cake— the lower oven door closes better than when oven was installed 13 years ago. Believe I had a bracket problem from day one!

Door would not close tight enough.
Removed the door and the screws that secured the oven to the cabinet. Pulled the oven out about four inches to provide access to the hinge brackets. Removed two screws on each bracket and removed the brackets. Reversed the process and all was well. Works like new.

50 year old oven racks in bad shape
Parts no longer available so we went to several appliance stores and measured racks. We found a jenair model had racks that measured correctly got the model number and ordered the racks. There working great and now the oven looks like new. Our kitchen is a restored 1956 GE metal kitchen in Cadilac pink. Thanks guys for the fast service and very resonsble price. Was also very happy to find the racks were made in USA.

Terminal block arc'ed because a wire had become loose.
Ordered and received the terminal block. Installed it along with a new 220V power cord and the appropriate insulator . Ensured the terminals were tight with a nut driver. Reinstalled cover. Then, using the control panel, I did a function check on all the heating elements, clock, oven light, to satisfy all operational requirements. All checked good! And, I was relieved that the control panel had not been shorted out as the terminal block was due to a loose connection. Easy fix.

Broken glass window
Opened oven door, placed 1 small bolt lengthwise between each hinge and hinge opening so that the hinges won't snap back when the door is removed. I know the hinges have two small locking tabs, one on each side, but they didn't seem to be doing the job. Remove the door, lay it on a flat surface about table top high and make sure something oft like a couple of towels or piece of foam, remove the 6 screws from the bottom and top of the door, the outer front of the door will then separate from the assembly. Take the rear assembly of the door and remove one of the two silver metal strips which holds the glass in place. Now at this point you would install the glass and replace the metal strip but what I did because I could not buy into the fact this glass did not have some type of temperature resistant insulation to prevent vibrations from cracking this glass again. After thinking about it a few minutes I remembered that back in the day they had these muffler/tailpipe repair kits which cost less than 5 bucks so I went out and bought one.I took the silver tape that comes in the kit, cut it the length of both sides of the glass and folded it over so that it would overlap about a eight of an inch on front/back of glass. I then took the temperature resistant cloth from the it and did the same as I did with the tape. Placed the glass down in the middle of the door and tightened both metal holders, replaced the front of the door, and then placed the door back onto the oven, pushed the two little tabs back in place, and used a pair of needle nose pliers to remove the two bolts and closed the door. Ya know when I look at what I typed here, I noticed that it took longer to type this then it did to do the work. AMEN
