JKP07*D2 General Electric Wall Oven - Instructions

My Husband did the repair while I wasn't home. He didn't bother to shut off the power even though he should have. He didn't electicute himself or burn down the house and the oven works great so I guess it was a success!

First I removed the two screws that hold the element in place. I then pulled the element out about 3 inches and made sure that there was no power feeding the element. Next I disconnected the two wires that power the element. I then removed the old element and replaced it with the new element. Tightened the screws but had to be careful on the second one and hold with plier as the first one bent a little as it was being tightened. Slid the element back after the connection screws were tightened and tightened the mounting screws. Reenergized and tested. The job went well - easier than expected...

Removed the 2 screws that held element in place. Pulled the element out about 2 inches to disconect the wires. I then reattached the new element and replaced the screws holding the element in place.

First I shut off power to the oven. Then, using a nut driver, I removed the two screws that hold the element in place. I then pulled the element out about 3 inches and unscrewed the two screws that make the electrical connection. Removed the old element and put in the new one.

Turned on power and ran the oven for a while to verify that it worked and to burn off any oils on the element.

Removed the two screws that held the element in place. This required the use of a socket wrench. Removed the screws that were attached to the lead wires. The screws were of the sheet metal type.
Once the new element was in place I did have some difficulty attaching the screws to the lead wires. The reason for this was because the screws that came with the new element were threaded and I had a hard time getting the screws started because of the small size and the limited amount of slack from the lead wires. A magnetic screw driver would have made the job much easier.

First turned power off for oven circuit at the breaker box then removed two screws that hold element in place. Pulled element out, tested for current, then removed two screws holding wires to element. Took old element from oven and inserted new element. Reattached wires with screws provided, and pushed element into opening. Replaced two screws securing element to back wall of oven. Turned the circuit breaker back on then checked to ensure the oven was working.

1. Turned the electricity off at the fuse box.
2. Took out the two metal screws holding the element to the oven back.
3. Unscrewed the screws holding the element coil, pulled the element out some and disconnected the two wires.
4. Replaced the old element with the new one.

Shut the power off to the stove. Removed the screws and pulled the old part out. Replaced with new part from Parts Select.

Removed the broken one by disconnecting the two screws , yellow and red wires and replacing it with the new part you sent me. Very simple.

I read your website repair testimonials by previous customers and used that advise to do the job. I liked the suggestion to use something to attach to the unattached wires so they don't slip back into the unit. I used two clothespins. I had one stubborn electrical connection to disconnect so it took a little longer -about 30 minutes. But it was a simple job to do and my oven works fine again. On thanksgiving day, as we were pre-heating the oven, electric sizzle, sparks and a little flame comes from our 24 year old oven. We were able to get dinner on the table and that evening I went looking for what I thought was going to be a difficult to find part. But I found the part on partselect. I ordered that evening and got it on saturday. Installation was a snap. The most difficult part was the nuts holding the wires were stuck on from time and heat and I worried about the wire from the small plate to the coil might break. A little wd-40 and a few minutes and they popped right off and right back on. Works great now.

Put in the new element and reconnected the wires. Pushed the wires and element back into place and screwed in the screws that hold the element in place.

Removed the bad part. There were 4 screws,
Found part on the internet.
When part arrived I installed it using the screws that I removed when I took out the bad part.
