JKP07*D1 General Electric Wall Oven - Instructions

Removed two screws that held the element flange onto the back of the oven, then two more little screws that held the element tips to the wires in back. Installed in the reverse sequence in about 10 minutes. A whole lot cheaper than calling a repairman! Thanks, the PartSelect customer service lady was a great help in getting me the right part for a 20 year old oven too.

Removed the two screws that held the element in place. Pulled the unit out a few inches to get at the bolted wires. The hard part is reaching in the oven using bifocal lenses and trying to block out the oven light. Getting past that obstacle, the rest went very well.

Toughest chore was to find a tool to remove the two hex screws that held the element to the back of the oven. Once I found the proper tool, the rest was easy. Pulled the circuit breaker, removed the two hex screws, disconnected the two electrical leads and put the new part in and did everything in reverse. Probably saved over $100 doing it myself.

I removed the two screws holding it in place,Then pulled it out so
i could remove the two wires , then connected the new unit. Replaced it in the oven wall.
Turned the oven on and it worked like a new one.

First I removed the two screws that hold the element in place. I then pulled the element out about 3 inches and disconnected the two wires on the element. Put in the new element and reconnected the wires. Pushed the wires and element back into place and screwed in the screws that hold the element in place.

Removed the two screws holding the mount and then reattached the two wires to the element.

Turn circuit breaker off.
Two screws detached the unit.
Another two screws to disconnect the wires. Reversed above operation for installation.
Turn circuit breaker on.
All fixed!

I read your website repair testimonials by previous customers and used that advise to do the job. I liked the suggestion to use something to attach to the unattached wires so they don't slip back into the unit. I used two clothespins. I had one stubborn electrical connection to disconnect so it took a little longer -about 30 minutes. But it was a simple job to do and my oven works fine again. The item was delivered timely from the order date and packaged well. Thank-you!

New element arrived in a couple of days! We turned off breaker to oven, removed the old one which only involved two screws. Then we had to connect new one and re-attach metal square, only tricky part was getting the metal square positioned correctly but that was really not hard, just made sure insulation was covered and plate went back in same position. If we had called a eepair company it would have taken a week or more and probably been expensive!

First turned power off for oven circuit at the breaker box then removed two screws that hold element in place. Pulled element out, tested for current, then removed two screws holding wires to element. Took old element from oven and inserted new element. Reattached wires with screws provided, and pushed element into opening. Replaced two screws securing element to back wall of oven. Turned the circuit breaker back on then checked to ensure the oven was working.

1. Turned the electricity off at the fuse box.
2. Took out the two metal screws holding the element to the oven back.
3. Unscrewed the screws holding the element coil, pulled the element out some and disconnected the two wires.
4. Replaced the old element with the new one.

First I turned the power off to the oven. Then I tried to take out the nuts holding in the element. One nut came off easily, the other one was rusted on, I had to use wd40 to loosen it. The project was easy once I got that nut off. I pulled out the element, which is connected to two wires. I took those screws out, connected the new element to the wires, re-attached the screws, pushed it back in, attached the nuts that hold the element in the oven. Then I turned the power back on and the oven works like a charm. I installed it the day I got it. I was surprised how quickly it was shipped to my house. I am so glad I repaired the oven, a new one would have cost over $800, I bought the element for less than $30, including shipping! It also sets a good example for my daughter. It taught her that her mom can repair things too, it's not just something men can do!

Removed the broken one by disconnecting the two screws , yellow and red wires and replacing it with the new part you sent me. Very simple.
