JKP47G*K2 General Electric Wall Oven - Instructions

Removed the broken one by disconnecting the two screws , yellow and red wires and replacing it with the new part you sent me. Very simple.

Part was a breeze to install. I turned the power off to the oven at the breaker. I then unscrewed the bolts holding the old element in and disconnected the wires. I attached the wires to the new element and bolted it back onto the oven. I turned the breaker back on an tested the new bake element. Worked great! Now it heats up like it should. The whole process was very easy.

The part was ordered on a Friday afternoon. It arrived the next morning! Threw the breaker, removed the racks, removed the old element and put in the new one. Done.

Turned off power at breaker and removed old element and replaced new element.

Removed two screws to release the burner, then two screws to disconnect the wiring and replace them. Then inserted the burner int position and replaced the two screws which were removed to remove the burner.

Very easy, however you will need a flashlight to see by since the back of the oven is rather dark.

The bottom heating element burned out. Ordered the right part and my husband fixed the heating element. This saved a lot of money.Thanks, RM from South Carolina

Took out the old (removed 2 screws holding the element to the back of the oven, disconnected the 2 screws attaching the electrical wires to the element). Decided to clean the oven with EasyOff. It took longer to spray this on, and then later wipe it up, than the repair itself. Reversed the procedure for the new element. A very simple repair - my wife is amazed!

unscrewed the broken one and replaced it with the new heating element. Worked perfectly! 20+ year old oven.

Unscrewed old element and screwed in the new one.

Removed two small bolt screws that held the bottom burner in place. Unscrew the two small screws that attach the oven wiring to the bottom burner. Put the bottom burner back in place and screw the two small bolt screws back in and its done.

Used nut driver to remove old element and screw driver to remove power leads. Reversed process to install new element. Took about 5 minutes.

Turned off electricity at fuse box. Unscrewed old element and removed. Put in new element, screwed it in. Turned on electricity. Voila.

Getting the part out was easy. Turned the power off (of course) first. The outside nuts were corroded, so had to use a pair of pliers to get them off. The inside connectors were easier to get off. I had a little trouble getting the connectors on the wires. The metal part on the heating element kept wanting to bend. I finally had someone hold that in place while I made the connections. The outside screws were easy to put on. The oven now works great. I think the element was failing over a period of time, and we just didn't notice. I can't remember the last time I actually saw the element get RED hot. Works great. Thanks for your quick service and reasonable prices. Will definitely use you again, when I need parts like this. Removed access screws from bake element cover, removed screws retaining wire connections on bake element, reverse procedure, and heat to burn off contaminants.

The longest step in the fix was the walk downstairs to turn off the breaker.
1 nut driver to remove the element from the oven. 1 screwdriver to disconnect. Just as simple to re-install.

If you have this oven I seriously recommend the $30 expense to replace the element before it fails. It honestly went out with a white hot welder's torch sort of short circuit that could have burned my house down.
