nEW cARB IS SURGING, HOW TO ADJUST?
For model number 31AH64FG731
Hello Paul,
Thank you for writing in. Here is some information we have found: Confirm It’s a Fuel Delivery Issue
Before adjusting anything, check:
? Fresh fuel (old fuel causes varnish and lean surging)
? Fuel filter not clogged
? Fuel line not cracked or collapsing
? Tank vent not blocked (loosen cap briefly to test)
If it still surges, move to carb adjustment/cleaning.
Clean the Carburetor (Most Common Fix)
Surging is often caused by:
Partially clogged main jet
Dirty pilot jet
Varnish buildup
Basic cleaning steps:
Shut off fuel.
Remove carburetor bowl.
Remove main jet (usually in center of bowl).
Spray carb cleaner through:
Main jet
Emulsion tube
Pilot jet
All visible passages
Blow compressed air through passages.
Reassemble and test.
?? Do not poke jets with wire — you can enlarge them and ruin fuel calibration.
We hope this helps.

It is recommended that the bottom bolts and nuts be replaced with 5/16-18 X 3/4" long zinc plated carriage bolts using zinc plated washers and ny-lock nuts. It is also recommended that all of th screw threads be coated with an anti- seize lubricant so disassembly at a later date will be easy.
I ordered a replacement chute rotation gearbox. The small metal ball on the end of the cable (on the replacement part) was attached about 1/8" too long and made it so that there was too much play in the trigger that operates it. Thus, the replacement part did not work. I called customer service for directions about returning the part.
... Read more They said it must have been defective. I'm still waiting for instructions about returning it for a refund. The whole thing was a bust. I ended up disassembling the old gearbox and fixing it, instead of replacing it (which would have been my preference). The replacement part did not work at all!
