Ice maker did not make ice
I actually went on your website and used the do it yourself repair video as a step by step guide to complete the repair. It was as easy in real life as it was presented on the video. I will use this website to buy and repair future issues I may face with my appiances.

The ice maker would not work
Initially, I took the ice make out of the refrigerator. It required removing two screws in the service door and one on the right side under the ice maker to remove a plastic cover for the wiring. There are plastic retainers under the left and right sides of the ice maker that must be pressed to release them so the ice maker can be removed. I had to unplug the wiring at the upper right of the ice maker (the plug has clip that you can slide a small screw driver into to release it and pull the plug apart). Once the ice maker was out I removed the white cover on the left side and it exposed the module. I found the shaft that holds the gear was broken. When the part arrive, I removed the existing module (three screws) and installed the new module. I reversed the ice maker removal process.

Ice maker stopped making ice
This is the 4th motor on this ice maker. Sears replaced the original motor at a cost of >$300 and this is the 2nd motor I have replaced at a cost <$70.
Repair is quite easy since this was the As described on your site, simply remove the door flap, remove the covering for the wiring, remove 3 hex nuts under the floor of the unit and the entire ice maker slides out. After disconneting the wires, you simply slide the cover from the motor, remove 3 philips screws and slide the old motor out.
Align the new motor, slide in, replace 3 philips and reverse the process to place the ice maker and hex nuts.
Was "back in ice" within an hour or so.
Thanks for the instructions and video and for making the parts affordable for do-it-yourselfers!

Not producing ice,grinding noise
1/4 nut driver removed 3 screws and unpluged connector at which point you can remove the entire ice maker assembly. Once it was out there was three philips screws that removed the head unit (after the fact I think I could have left the assembly in and just removed the head unit) replace old head unit with new one, making sure to aline the flip bar in the slot. Slide right in and had ice later that night. A very simple fix that once again made me look like the husbandly hero that we all strive for.

Ice maker was not making cubes
My husband and I worked together using a video I found online as a guide. The part went in easily within less than 30 minutes. I can't believe we waited so long! Within a few hours the ice maker was making cubes after a 2-3 year hiatus! Saved the estimated $280-$360 cost of the appliance repairman. We are VERY pleased.

Stopped making ice
This is our 4th icemaker repair in 6 1/2 years, and by far the cheapest, except when it quit while still under warranty while refrig was only 8 months old. Fridge has been great but icemaker NOT. Anyway, my significant other has lots of experience with taking icemaker out and tinkering with it, cause we are cheap, so he had already looked at it. We expected to pay about $150 for a new one, but couldn't find the whole icemaker. When I came across your website, and started looking at individual parts, we decided together that the control and motor assembly was probably the ticket. Ordered it on Thursday night, received it Saturday afternoon. He installed it in 5 minutes, we had ice 2 hours later. Life was good. Oh, and spending half what we were planning on spending was a nice surprise also. Thanks. I'm sure you'll be getting our business again.

Ice maker no make ice, beeg probum
The video shows the mechanic removing the icemaker. I did not need to do that on my Whirlpool refrigerator.

All I needed to do was unplug the refrigerator, pull the white cover off, unscrew three screws, pull the original motor unit. From there, everything was reversed and I had ice. Woohoo!

Just don't do like I did and keep opening the freezer door. It took longer because I kept looking in to see if it was making ice.

Cubes not pushing out during harvest mode
I first determined it was the motor and not the electronics which had failed a couple years ago. I watched the video posted on your site on how to do the repair, so didn't have to make the mistake of calling a repair person so they could take two weeks to do it, and charge four times what it cost me to do it myself. The part arrived in only two days from my order. The hardest part for me was waiting for the ice to thaw that had frozen the unit to the side of the freezer. Once out, it took all of 10 minutes to remove the three screws holding in the motor, and put the new one in. As soon as I hooked it back up, and turned on the water supply and power, it filled with water and in less than an hour, was harvesting ice again. Your site is a Godsend. I felt really good about myself after this was done... as did my wife!

Ice maker simply stopped making ice
Watched a quick tutorial by Virtual Repairman and determined that my Ice Maker Control and Motor Assembly was most likely the root cause, as a matter of fact it was listed as the problem 63% of the time. I removed the Ice Maker as instructed , pulled the motor free and sure enough, I immediatley saw that the motor had shorted out. I ordered the assembly suggested for this model and when it arrived, (correct I might add)I immediatley installed it. Bled the system and within an hour or so the unit was making ice again.I have to admit though, I had my doubt's about the part showing up correctly, but they did. To sum it all up, when I need an appliance or electronic part, this is the first place I'm going to look.

Stopped making ice.
I followed the Partselect how-to video on how to relace the icemaker motor and voila,2 hrs later I had ice.The repair took 15 minutes probably saved me a $75.00 service call plus the mark-up on the part.I liked the the fact that Partselect puts the percentage of the probability besides each part picture and discription. Having no experience working on an icemaker, this was a great help in ordering the right part.If I recall, the motor assembly was the culprit 60% of the time. I'm really glad I stumbled onto this web site.PS. The part was ordered on a Sunday and arrived by FedEx on Thursday.
