Floating baffle and Ice bin auger drum were both broken and needed replaced.
The video of the repair that was on your website was extremely helpful. It showed in detail how to replace the parts item by item. I could not have done it correctly without the video. I believe anyone could have replaced these parts with your instruction video.

Light switch which turns on the lights when the door opens went out
This is an easy fix, simply remove and replace. What I was impressed with is that a how to video was provided along with my part. I wish all manufactures would offer this, the video was easy to understand and you had a good view of the operation. Thanks, a job well done.

Both light bulbs had been replaced, but lights did not turn on.
I tried to remove the old light switch using a putty knife and a hammer. It was hard to compress the plastic tabs to pull it back through the hole, but all of a sudden, the lights came on. I guess banging on the switch freed-up the contacts. The new switch is now a spare part in case I need it.

Drum vanes were breaking off.
I took ice bin apart to ensure what part I needed. Got Serial # & Model # from inside fridge. Online search for Whirlpool Parts to check out prices. Settled on PartSelect for best price. Quick service too!!! Before putting it all back together, I reviewed the video. It was pretty good. Just left it up & after each couple of steps, I'd look at what was next. Went together with no problem. There could have been more details given, like ensuring that certain things lined up during reassembly. There was dead time when the narrator could have given pointers.

The round part that I ordered
After figuring out online what I needed I was sent the step by step video on what to do. I have never did anything like this but I learned. In the Past my husband would deal with it but he is no longer alive to do this kind of stuff. Thank goodness you sent the video along with all the instructions as i had my laptop on the table and followed stopped it and followed it again. I actually did this . I am so proud of myself.Thank you for making it so easy.

White plastic chips kept appearing in the ice crusher
I took the ice bin and crusher down to find the problem. I needed a new auger. I did a Google search for the part and found instructions for taking the crusher mechanism apart. This went smoothly until I went to put it back together. I had to follow the instructions in reverse which was really difficult. I advise folks to use their cell phone camera to take close up pictures of the dismantling process . Use these to help you put it back together. All in all, I was very pleased and plan to return when another need arises. John (retired x 2)

Icemaker shaft did not turn to dispense ice
It tool me a while to diagnose the problem but realized the ice dispenser motor coupling had failed. It fooled me for a while because it turned on the motor but could not turn the plastic shaft inside the icemaker. I found the instructions for an almost identical repair on your website. 1)I removed the motor. In my case the wiring harness came right off.2) I turned the coupling by hand and found that although it turned, it was actually loose on the motor shaft. I then knew it was the problem. 3) The threads were apparently cross threated. 4) As a prior user suggested on your site, I used a hacksaw to cut the old coupling off, being careful to not damage the remaining threads. 5) I ordered the new coupling which arrived very quickly 6) I screwed it on to the motor shaft (remember it is a left hand thread). 7) Presto!! My icemaker works. As the other user suggested, I did not have to use washers as spacers. The new coupling was better made than the old one and actually has ~1/8" nut or spacer already welded to the coupling. My thanks to those before me who helped make this a successful repair.

The nut on the motor that turns the augor in the ice maker had striped the treads.
I would not have attempted the repairs without your instruction. I use a Drimel tool with a abravise blade to cut the part off the shaft. After I realized the Drimel tool would work. It took me parhaps 10 minutes to get it off the shaft. I had already ordered the new part and the job was complete. Thanks for the help. Ron Burch

Broken plastic direct drive drum for ice-maker
My husband and I followed the instructional video on how to replace the "direct drive drum". We took note of how everything looked prior to dismantling the ice bin. We made sure we had the proper tools and a large flat surface to work on and started taking out the screws. Replaced the new drive drum part and put it all back together. The whole process took approximately 30 minutes and the ice crusher works great now. I'm a happy camper!!

The drum just started breaking apart one day. i thought i'd have to buy the entire auger. But as a result of Parts Select, Irealized i only needed to buy the drum.
Before I ordered, I followed the great video to disassemble the unit. That's when I realized I only needed to buy the drum. Five days later, I had the part. I thought I remembered how to reassemble it, but I ended up needing to watch the video again. It wasn't difficult, but you must get all the bits back in the same order!! Once that was dine, it all went together easily. Thank you! I'm so impressed with this site that I posted on Facebook about it so my friends can also save big bucks doing simple repairs themselves.
