GI5FVAXVB04 Whirlpool Refrigerator - Instructions

Remove damaged driver glides on both sides, save screws to reuse. Put right glider on right and left glider on left side of drawer and tighten screws with screwdriver.

Open and remove lower cover on filter holder by opening tabs that hold lower cover and remove lower cover.

Firmly hold back of unit and firmly hold and turn filter in counter clockwise to unlock and remove.

Install new filter by holdin back of unit and install new filter by turning in clock wise direction and then replace lower cover.

The Condenser Fan Motor was already removed due to searching for the problem. The new fan motor looked different from the original but I felt very comfortable that Part Select had sent me the new part showing original part number changing numbers over the years. Simply placed the fan blades onto the new motor lined up 2 of the holes placed screws and tightened then plugged the wire ribbon into the Condensor Fan Motor, plugged in the Refridgerator and it worked beautifully.

The instruction video on the Part Select Web Site made it so incredibly easy to install. Installation took under 3 minutes!

The new door just popped into place. Took seconds to complete. Fast delivery too.

Had to push the light switch to get lamp to light up.
Removed power from refrig. and removed old light switch
and replaced with the one I got from Partselect. Turned power back on and was done.

followthe instructions in the book that came with the refrigerator

1) Turn off the power to the refrigerator 2) Remove the top shelf and ice maker door 3)Remove three hex screws holding the ice maker in place, 4) Unplug the electrical cables and remove the ice maker 5) Remove the plastic cover to the motor module 6) Remove three screws from the motor module and seperate from the housing 7) Remove two mounting screws for the motor module 8) Seperate the motor module from the ice tray 9) Remove and replace the plastic ice stripper and rake10) Reassemble in reverse order. Note: Be patient after re-installing the ice maker. It might take an hour or two before its cold enough to kick back on and make ice.

Removed 4 bottom screws. Removed module screws. Replaced module and motor with new parts (came assembled). Replaced module screws and installed the ice maker with the 4 bottom screws.

Unplug refrigerator. Lift and remove cup tray, exposing the two screws. Remove both. Gently pry the plastic bezel/cover from the door facing. Remove the three screws securing the black dispenser/circuit board assembly. Carefully disconnect the three cables from the circuit board (remember how they were routed). Being careful not to lose the spring clip, remove the defective actuator. Place the spring clip on the new actuator post and reattach actuator to the black housing making sure to hook the rear spring clip hook into the hole behind it. Using pliers, pull the front spring clip hook up so that it catches on the assembly post. While the dispenser assembly is off, good time to clean up any dirt, grime, etc from the assembly and door facing. Replace the assembly by reconnecting the three cables and using the three screws. Carefully snap bezel/cover in place and secure with the two screws. Replace cup tray.

Pried out the old switch and installed the new switch.

Can not do repair. Ordered part 3/30 due to me on 4/1. Today is 4/15 and still no part. I even paid for quicker delivery. Thanks FedEx!!

Watched a couple of videos. Removed left side hinge first, then did the same to the right side hinge. Part was installed in reverse order. Installation took less than 60 seconds.

Repair was tremendously easy. All I did was remove old light switch by prying out with screw driver and plugging in the new light switch and pushing it into the hole. Simple! The instructions weren't needed, but they were very thorough.

The part needed was not available to me so I had to request a service call ... the service tech came out after a week long wait and did not have the switch ... he had to order it which added another 2 week delay to this very simple repair.

I noticed the coils very dusty dirty, tried brushing it clean, ended up blowing it clean. I noticed the condenser fan motor was never turning, I had power, so I ordered a new one. I actual received the evaporator motor, so I had to order the correct one. After changing it, and it started blowing right away. But my refrigerator is still warm. I do not know where the evaporator blower motor is located. I cannot make out from the diagram breakdown. HELP
