EWT8502A00 Whirlpool Refrigerator - Instructions

After removing the broken glass I inserted the new shelf piece. It fit perfectly and was very easy to install!

After I did the prep work of removing the items inside the door the project took less than 15 minutes to get the repair job done. 1. Remove the door by taking off the top hinge cover on top of the door, remove the three screws with a socket wrench, remove the plastic gasket under the hinge, left door up and off the lower hinge pin 2. Place the new bracket on the freezer door hinge pin, flange side down 3. I had to place an extra spacer washer, which I had on hand, on top of the hinge bracket 4. Replace the door on the bottom hinge pin 5. My husband held the door in place as I reattached the top of the door with the plastic spacer and 3 screws I had removed 6. Replaced the plastic gasket and hinge cap on the top 7. With the door reattached, I removed the existing screw under the door directly below the new hinge bracket, lined up the hinge bracket to the screw hole and attached it in place. Much to my surprise and pleasure, the door swings perfectly, stopping where it should with the door shelves loaded! Thank you PartSelect for having a part that would work for my 16 year old refrigerator even though I had to add a washer shim to make the new part as thick as the original.

I watched the video and thought "I can do this". Made some notes and then proceeded to remove the old switch and replace with the new one. Thank you.

googled the model of ice maker and refrigerator, ordered replacement ice maker from Part Select. Received next day, installed it in 10 minutes and it worked like a charm.

I removed a few items from the freezer to make room. Husband took out the old ice maker. (We were sure it would require moving the refrigerator out which would have been a huge undertaking given the tight fit) To start he simply replaced the ice maker with the new one. I started watching...and even though it says that it will take up to 24 hours to make ice, it began making ice probably within an hour! After about 6 batches, I threw those out. (just in case there was anything in the line that would contaminate the cubes)It is obvious that the old one had not worked properly for a long time! The ice container is full to almost over-flowing! It has not been this full in a very long time, as I use ice every day! Simple fix! And might I add...LIGHTNING FAST DELIVERY!! It was here in two days! We are thrilled!!!!!

I watched your repair video, read the instruction enclosed with the icemaker and made the repair in about 15-20 minutes. There is an issue that others need to be aware of once the water pump is repaced and the tubing is connected and the icemaker is installed and turned back on; it take 20-30 minutes to pump the air out of the line and the for the water to actually fill the the fill tray (you made the install correctly, the delay in filling is not covered by either the video or the book just be patience don't disconnect and reconnect anything it will eventually fill and make ice and less than 48 hours). This vendor offers 4 star customer service at a fair and resonable price (I priced the parts separately prior to purchase and the kit is the way to go). I received the product within 3 days, shipped groung delivery. I would use your products and online service advice for installation on other appliances in the future if needed. You have earned my trust, and repeat business in the future; and I will gladly recommend you to others. Your customer focus and service is second to none. Took socket out and replace it with new one. Very easy. W saved alot of money doing it ourself.

Simply removed the old icemaker and replaced it with the new one. Reqires removing 3 hex head screws and wiring harness, then reconnecting the new unit.

I had ordered some other parts for something entirely different off your website and service was great. So after almost ten years of a dark refrigerator, because of a defective switch, I decided to see if you had the part to fix it... You did and the part got here in 3 days. I had a working light switch and all the light in the world where my husband needed it most (in the fridge). It took me at the most ten minutes to replace the part. All is well now and I have a happy husband who can find the leftovers just fine. Thanks for your great service!

took old one out with a screw driver,replaced it with the new one. works great!. din't have to put part on at back bottom.I will say this.you guys sure got the part here fast! thanks..

We tried repairing with a new switch which was very easy to install but it didn't fix the problem.

Replacing the thermostat was a very easy process. Couple of screws and then just matched how the existing one was installed.

I unplugged the unit Frist. Then I removed the grill covering the compressor and fan from the back. I then located the rear wheel and pin. I bent down the retaining tab and removed the pin and wheel. I installed new wheel and pin and bent retaining tab back to origional location. Replaced grill and checked unit for proper operation.

followed the video as instructed. Saved two repairman calls, one to find the problem, one to install. Net savings was about $130.00
