Ice buildup in freezer causing leaking water into fridge section
In my case the defrost thermostat was not the problem. Not worth going through the hassle of checking the thermostat as I would have had to cut it out and test it in another freezer (while the food that was in the freezer was being stored elsewhere). I just ended up buying it and replacing it. So, like I said the defrost thermostat was NOT the issue. I ended up getting a drain tube heater strap, and have been keeping my eye on the fridge. It hasn't been long enough to say the strap fixed the problem, but all indications are pointing to that being the case.

Removed crisper shelf to clean and it shattered into a million pieces
Ordered the wrong shelf, returned it and ordered the correct shelf. Placed it on the frame. Service was two days.

The plastic water fill tube got cracked when we moved. I called a parts company and they told me they couldn't just sell me the tube I would have to buy a whole kit for about $50 dollars. I decided to glue the tube. It worked for a while then it started leaking. So I thought I would have to buy
I hand screwed the fill tube into the water tube and stuck it into the freezer hole. I screwed the fill tube to the back of the refrigerator.

End caps broke on the lower shelf
Slid the end caps onto the shelf, placed the tape on the pieces as noted in the directions, and put the shelf back in place. Fast service, exact part, easy to find on the web site! Great!

Broke light switch while cleaning
use kitchen knife to pry out. replaced switch assemble and pressed back into place. Could not have done this with out help from previous customers. Thanks

Shelves in freezer falling off
Went online with the model number, the part was very easy to find, diagrams helped me to have confidence in the choice. Parts came in two days, tore them open and used a screw driver to replace the broken shelf brackets, replaced shelves, I am a happy camper!!

Metal end cap on freezer door handle broke
Parts Select was easy to deal with -- had the item next morning after ordering! But Whirlpool should be ashamed -- this is the FOURTH time this part has had to be replaced in the 13 years we've had this refrigerator. Unrelated, but still a Whirlpool problem, the icemaker broke within 6 months -- had it repaired twice and then gave up. Will buy a different brand frig next time.

End cap broke for freezer door.
I slid the bar into the end caps, then slid the end caps into the slots on the door. No tools were required. My fridge is old, and I was very pleased that I was able to find the part.

My refrigerator would not defrost.
The first part I changed was the defrost timer but it did
not solve the problem, I replaced the bi-metal defrost sensor
and I have the same problem.
I can defrost by turning the clock manually and heater works.

One of the front wheels was broken in half.
Very easy. Left the front of the refrigerator so it is approx. 4 inches of the floor. (used a two by four. Removed the screws (one for each roller). Removed the rollers and replaced with new rollers. Reinstalled the screws with secures the rollers to the refrigerator. Done

Light rocker switch broke and refrigerator light couldn't go on.
I just popped out the old switch with a flat head screwdriver. Removed the connections and then installed new switch by reversing steps. Popped in back in and the light went on.

Connection leaked as tube entered freezer
Followed video and had one problen, the metal pipe would not release as shown,so I used a hacksaw between the plastic and metal pipe, removing the metal pipe from inside as the video shows. Good instructions.

My wife broke the shelf support
The new shelf support part fit perfectly. I needed no tools just slid it on the existing bracket. Super easy.

A couple supports broke
I simply slid off the broken supports, and slid the new ones on.
