ET20DK Whirlpool Refrigerator - Instructions

Removed all food and defrosted the evaporator. This took most of the time at about 2:30 hr. Replacing the gaskets only took about 30 min. this involved removing the small screws under the old gasket with a 1/4" nut driver in a drill/driver. Then removing the inner panal and pulling off the old gasket then cleaning every thing with warn soapy water and putting the new gasket on the inner panal and starting with the small holes, not the elongated ones, put the inner panal back on but don't tighten the screws down until you have them all in but loose. Then check that the door is strait with the unit, Set the clutch at 3-4 so you don't strip the screws, and start tightening them, checking that the door is still flush with the unit when closed as you go. Then do the same to the other door. That's it. No more frost!

I wasnt about to call Mr Appliance of Bayport NY the last time I called him I got a bill for $72.00 and he told me I needed a new frig. So I paid him then the next day I went to parts select and fixed it myself for about $50.00 But this time it was my Moms frig and the frig side (fresh food side) wasnt getting cold So again I went to parts select and put in a bimetel thermostat and it works perfect now. Im sure I saved a lot of $ and thanks to parts select, They helped me diagnose the problem and make the repair step by step! EASY! Thanks parts select...Garry from long island NY

Snapped in new end caps and attahed existing shelf bar. Have done this twice. We tend to stuff too many items on that bottom shelf.

We wasted time looking for the electrical schematic on our refrigerator (the first step in the instructions). By skipping that and reading further in the instructions, the type of cooling that the refrigerator has can easily be determined by the colors of the wires that go to the defrost timer. You need to know this to set up the timer properly for your specific refrigerator. Had I just started there, the entire repair would have taken less than 10 minutes. Very simple repair and it works like a charm, no more water coming into the refrigerator and the ice cream is rock hard. Glad we didn't have to spend lots on a new appliance. Thanks Part Select.com! Removed correct part from those provided and slipped it into position. No tools necessary.

Simple. snap together instalation, no tools required. Thank you partselect for having the parts pictured with a size grid in the background, without that size grid, it would have been more difficult to select the right part. And, may I add, "my local appliance repair person indicated- he could not locate a repair part." I found the part via google search, and partselect.

This repair was super easy. there are only 5 screws to remove to get at the defective switch. 3 in the housing where the light bulbs are and 2 in the front trim piece where the cooling adjustment dials are. I never did unplug the fridge ,but probably should have although nothing bad happened. I removed all 5 screws using a 1/4" socket ( a nutdriver would work well also). there is also a small dia rod that comes down from the coolness adj. wheel that when you re-assemble goes though the middle of the wheel. The switch has only 2 wires that clip on with the push on flat type connectors. Very simple. I removed the wires and then the switch can be removed( it is only held in by 2 squeezable side clips). I put the new switch in and connected the wires , checked to see that the lights went on and off. which they did. then just put the screws back in.....done. also I would like to say that when I ordered my switch it came super fast. I ordered it online at 11:00am on a tuesday and it was on my doorstep in wisconsin by 10:00 am the next day...Thanks

I was a Sears repair man for fourty eight years , so I don"t think I should say how easy this was.

unpluged refrigerator. removed panel in front of fan. Removed the fan motor. Installed the new fan kit. Replaced the panel in front of fan. Pluged the refrigerator back in. The refrigerator runs a 100 percent better

R/R part, 3 screws reconnect 3 wires. easy.

Took socket out and replace it with new one. Very easy. W saved alot of money doing it ourself.

First, although I was SURE I knew what to do, I watched the repair video. I used needle nose pliers to push broken support into wall since I could not pull it out. Selected correct wall fixture, spread holder pins, and snapped into wall opening. Couldn't have been easier!!! Very useful site.
