WRT18MP5AQ1 Westinghouse Refrigerator - Instructions

I watched the video on how to change the defrost thermostat. I removed the back cover inside the freezer then I pulled off the old defrost thermostat and then using a pair of wire cutters I cut it off and then bared a little of both of the wires and then slid the heat sherink and wire connectors on the existing wires and then slid the other ends of the wires into the wire connectors then crimped the ends of the connectors and then tried using heat on the heat shrinks but still used rubber electric tape over it. I clipped the new thermostat were the old one was and then reattached the freezer wall cover and plugged the refrigerator back in. 24 hours later I checked the temperature in the refrigerator and freezer and both are running a lot colder.

I called the repairman who diagnosed the problem as a thermostat then had to order a thermostat took about 2 weeks to get back and install (cost little over $100). did good for about two weeks and same problem reoccured. I decided it was defrost timer and ordered from this site for $19.95 including shipping. I got on ( you tube ) and got instructions(recommend you tube) for DIY install about 15 to 20 minutes. Has been running great for about 3 weeks. ( YOU TUBE IS GREAT FOR A DIY REPAIR ON ABOUT ANYTHING)

The bulb has a plastic clear cover. That cover can just be carefully removed using a screwdriver. It's held in by a metal bracket. After you remove the cover. You'll just need to replace the bulb and then re-install the cover and bracket.

Super easy fix! Used flathead screwdriver to start corner of gasket, then just pulled it out with my hands. Cleaned the track and surrounding area with a rag and some windex. Started in top right corner with new gasket and just worked my way around the door until it was fully seated in track. Done! Only thing I would do differently next time would be to start at the bottom when installing new gasket, just so I could have better sight and leverage at the end.

I started look inside ,disconnected power, and open all possible compartments to see any burned part. Fortunately I fined a small part look like melted and then i went online and make my research .Then i ordered that part and change it.

I removed the plastic shroud on the ceiling of the refigerator, unscrewed and unplugged the old defrost timer, and replaced it with the new one. I reinstalled the shroud with the new timer installed.

First, I removed the screw holding the support rail and, because of using super glue to attempt a temporary fix, I had a little difficulty in removing it from it's location.

Since I have "tremors" next time email me a repairman.

I just took off the broken piece and replaced it with the brand new piece I got from Partselect.com. The part was like three bucks and shipping was a little over 5. I fixed the bottom shelf for under ten bucks. I didn't think I'd be able to find the part on the net, but a quick google search led me here. My wife was always nagging me to fix it. I attempted unsuccessfully to glue this piece several times. Then my wife got the idea for me to search for a replacement on line. It took me less than 5 minutes to reassemble the door rack and reinstall in in our refrigerator. no tools were required. The part fit like the factory original. I wish all repair jobs were this straight forward and simple to do. Having the correct part makes it more than easy. We were both more than pleased with the price and the delivery time.

I tried contacting this page about the item I never received but I never heard back so this is my review. I DIDNT FIX IT BECAUSE I DIDNT GET ITEM.

REMOVED STUFF FROM SHELVE AND THEN REMOVED SHELVE AND TURN UPSIDE DOWN REMOVED SCREWW AND REPLACED RAIL AND DRAWERIN TRACKS REINSTALLED SCEW AND RETURNEED TO REFRIGERATOR

Thawed out freezer, I recommend laying a couple old towels in freezer to soak up melted ice. Replaced old thermostat with new part. Removed 2 screws, removed back plate, unplugged 2 connectors and cut 2 wires. Crimped in new thermostat and repositioned to original part location. Reconnected plugs as I reinstalled back plate. Installed 2 screws and connected power. Works like new! Trouble shooting and part installation video is very helpful, great site!

REPLACED BACK SCREW AND SCREWED THE NEW ONE INTO PLACE,REPLACED BOTH SIDES,RIGHT AND LEFT...SUPER EASY.
