WRTG18X6AW1 Westinghouse Refrigerator - Instructions

cleared all food items from shelf......took shelf out of refrigerator.....unscrewed one screw from broken rail.......screwed in new rail and replaced shelf and food items.......simple!

removed top shelf from refrigerator, and placed it upside down on counter. removed 1 screw from old track and track was out. put new track in place, put in screw and replaced shelf

Removed the broken end cap piece from the shelf retainer bar. You need to pry up the little metal tabs with a screwdriver to remove the end cap, then slide in the new one and crimp down the tabs with the pliers. super easy. Replacement part was identical so it fit perfectly.

I purchased a left and right end cap and the bar but I ended up with 2 right end caps of different sizes. Partselect happily accepted my return and shipped the correct part. I hadn't had a bottom condiment shelf for over 4 years. It's nice to have one now. It was easy. Just popped on one end cap, slid the bar on, slid on the other end cap (had to force a little) and popped on that end cap. Voila! new shelf.

I just slid the end of the cap on the end. REAL EASY...Now I can use my shelf again.

This was not technical at all. The old door fell out and the replacement door snapped right into position. It was simple.

Simply removed screw from old rail, inserted it into new rail and connected the rail to the old shelf. A very easy fix and a money saver. Local techs wanted $75 just to come out and look at the problem. Local parts places didn't stock the part and gave an estimated delivery time of 3-5 weeks with a price $12 higher than you guys. This was the easiest thing to repair in my house! All I needed to do was to snap the appropriate new shelf in the place where the prior piece was and we were back in business. A caveat to anyone else who might try it-get your Mfgr/model number straight as well as measure the length of the shelf to be replaced. Since my brand was not listed in the pull-down menu for replacements, the first time I ordered the shelf replacement piece, I ordered the shelf that looked exactly like the one I was replacing however the replacement was a few inches too small! I just put the new one in with no problem

A single screw holds the part in place. The ONLY challenge is seating the new slide so that the screw hole in the glide matches the hole in the support assembly. Initially setting the glide into place mismatched by about 1/16 of an inch toward the back of the refrigerator. Firmly grasping the new part after mating it to the two receivers on the support assembly, pull it toward you until it clicks into place. The screw should mate cleanly to the new part without any difficulty. Make sure you get the right or left side part, as they are not interchangeable.

It simply snapped into place. No tools required. A very simple repair.

Easy peasy... took the shelf out of the fridge. Unscrewed the old rail. Screwed in the new one. Put the shelf back in. DONE!!!!

My local appliance repair shop said they would have to order the whole shelf in order to fix my problem. It was going to cost $50 and I'd have to wait 3 weeks.

Instead, I found you guys on the internet. The part cost $5 and I got in delivered in 2 days.... CAN'T BEAT THAT!!!!

The evaporator coil is behind the freezer. Remove the rack that makes the shelf and remove two 1/4” hex head screws I the back of the freezer to access the coil.
I used a hair dryer to melt the ice off the coil.
The thermostat clips on the refrigeration pipe to the coil. Remove the old thermostat and cut the wires at least a few inches from the thermostat. Clip the new thermostat on the pipe and strip about a 1/4” of the wire ends. The electrical connectors (provided with the new part) must be crimped to connect the wires.
