Occasionally, we'd get one batch of ice cubes and a frozen lake of water in the bottom of the ice tray.

The installation was easy and I won't bother duplicating the comments of others who have installed this part.

One word of caution: The ice maker contains a heating element on the bottom. That element is apparently live even when the ice bar is in the upper (off) position. When I unscrewed the old ice maker and went to lift it off the bolts, I severely burned my finger on the bottom of the old ice maker because apparently I started the repair in the middle of the heating cycle.

I highly recommend that you unplug the ice maker entirely before doing the replacement and gingerly ensure that the unit isn't hot before touching it. You'll save yourself a nasty burn.

watched the video (VERY helpful) and then removed the old icemaker and replaced it with the new one. Difficult only because of the small working space in the side by side freezer plus you can't see what you're doing when you tighten the screws. Working like a charm now.

From most posts I've read, the defrost timer was the culprit so I blindly ordered one. Easy install but did not fix the problem so I broke out the ohm meter. The only other 2 items it could be all tested good with my meter so I bypassed the defrost thermostat (per forum help...actually quite easy)and it defrosted fine, which told me I needed a new defrost thermostat. Installed fairly easy and problem gone.

Having tried PartSelect.com before, I was very comfortable with the process. Input my symptoms and the feed back I received was that one of the 2 things (Defrost Timer or Defrost Thermostat)might need replacement. Since the cost was not much and over night shipping would cost more than the product, I decided to order both the parts. Changing parts was a breeze. The instructions posted by others on your web site were very easy to follow. You guys save me a bundle every time I have any thing going worng with any of my appliances.

It was very simple, used a nut driver to loosen the attachment nuts that held the ice maker in place. Disconnected the wiring harness. Removed the leveling tab from old ice maker and attached it to the new one. Then reassembled in the reverse order. As they say it was no brainer! The best part of the repair, was hearing the ice dump.

I replaced the shelf end caps in the shelves of my fridge and I also replaced the gasket around the door.

Every time I would open the door, things would fall out because the shelves were giving, because the end caps were broken. Once I got the new ones, I was amazed that these parts are still available and that they lock right in with no problem. Once you get one in, you then have to place one end of that retaining bar into that, very tightly, making sure the end is completely secure in the cap. Then you can lock the other cap to the other end, lock it into place in the door and whala! It is just that simple.


Now the gaket is another story, it is best to soak the gasket in hot water first to draw it up abit so it will be snug and also to use lubricant such as petroleum around the inside where it is going to fit to the door. This made it extremely easy to afix to my door with no problems. I am so glad for this site.. hundreds of dollars saved!!

The replacement part was a bit too long (about 6"). Measured length of the existing bar that was on lower shelf and used a rotary tool with a metal cutting disc to make the same length. Everything snapped into place easily.

A little research told me the hum plus no cooling was either the compressor or the relay. I ordered the new relay and put it in but it didn't fix the problem. I ended up having to buy a new fridge, but it was worth the $30 gamble to see if I could fix it on the cheap and it saved me the money a service call would've cost. Pretty easy installation, just in a tight space on my model.

I had a fridge that was not working food was melting in the freezer, Beer was warm. You get the picture anyway using your site I found the parts needed to to fix the issue in fact I ordered two parts one fixed the issue 50% and the other like 30% of the time! both parts with overnight shipping were cheaper than 1 part if purchased at our local appliance part outlet:) not to mention the cost of a repair person. The instructions that came with the replacement icemaker were very complete, in particular concerning the small levelling bracket on the bottom of the icemaker, because the old bracket needed to be removed from the old icemaker and transferred to the new one. This part of the installation might not have been obvious, so I was glad to see it clearly outlined in the instructions. The old icemaker was removed by loosening two nuts and detaching the electrical connector, and the new one was installed in its place. Fairly simple, the whole job took about 45 minutes because I work slowly and carefully. A more confident person could probably have the new one installed in 15 minutes. Only drawback: about three to four weeks after installing the new icemaker it has begun making a loud clicking noise on occasions. It is a repetitive (5 second interval) clicking, and only happens for about a minute every few hours and then stops. I am concerned that it might be gears prematurely wearing out and slipping. I guess I'll know in a few weeks if this one stops making ice.********************************************* Update: after about 9 months the new icemaker quit working and will need to be replaced. I removed the front cover from the icemaker and could clearly see that the teeth of one of the plastic gears were worn out and no longer meshing with the opposite gear. The drive gear was just spinning in place and making no contact with the larger gear.

I found that the fill solenoid for the ice maker was down to a drip when energized. I ordered from this site and replaced. now plenty of water, but the ice maker would just stall and jump teeth. The heater which heats the ice up to free it from the mold was defective. Ordered from this site, and now working great.this sitet has good pricing, and the help illustration is great, and explains the sequence of events. This made it easy to troubleshoot. This refrigerator has not give a problem in over 11 years. The problem is "the ice maker". I have replaced it 6 times.

Followed on line video. Also water supply tube on fridge was full of ice. You can pull it out and run hot water on it to clear.

removed ice maker storage holder and then remove two philip screws and unplugged four pin connector. removed ice maker and installed new one . very easy to do

Purchased a new ice maker assembly and installed. Very easy

Found the part on this site ordered and received part in 3 days. Took approx. 10 min to replace. Thanks for the quick service.
