The icemaker on our ice in the door refrigerator quit working
With a little investigation, I found that the ice tray had corroded, and the increased friction was keeping the ice from dumping out properly. It also had apparently damaged the gear motor, and the timing of the ice ejector was off. I went to the Part Select site and found that the icemaker specifically for my refrigerator was significantly more expensive than the universal Whirlpool replacement icemaker, but the two looked similar, so I ordered the universal replacement. When it arrived about 3 days later, I was able to easily remove the standard parts and replace them with the plastic parts and wire harness that were unique to my refrigerator. They fit perfectly, and I had the new icemaker installed in only about 20 minutes, including time spent to remove and replace the plastic parts

Ice Maker wasn't working
it was very very simple, it took only three screws
using socket set.
I removed the old one and put the new one in place , connect electric connection in 2 seconds snapping it toghether, that is all to it.
the hardest part is waiting on the ice to be made , which it took three to four hours for the first batch.
I am in the medical profession, IF I CAN do it , everyone CAN!!!!!!!!

Stopped making ice
It was very fast and easy. Two screws to take of the ice door cover. the ice maker itself just slid out and all I did was disconnnect the wiring harness. Unscrewed the plastic bottom case and screwed onto the new one. Attached the harness and slid it back in.

Ice maker stopped making ice
Replacing the ice maker is no big deal. Just take out the old one and replace it with the new one. The replacement, however, didn't work very well. Seemed like its timer was off, so it would dump ice cubes before they were completely frozen. So, we go shells of ice cubes. Not good. Called Parts Select, advised them of the problem, and they agreed to replace the part. Could not be happier with the customer service I received from this company.

Icemaker quit
Unscrewed 3 screws. Unplugged the old unit, plugged in the new unit. Replaced 3 screws. Made ice like new.

This was VERY easy. The kit inlcuded every conceivable wire connection pigtail. Turned out I needed none since the OEM cable was a plug & play affair.

Ice maker stopped making ice
First I unpluged the refriderator and removed the old ice maker. I then just simply installed the new ice maker. It was just that simple. The next morning I woke up with a full tray of ice.

Ice maker stopped making ice
This was an easy repair.

First I turned off the breaker that supplies power to the refrigerator, then I followed instructions to remove the old ice maker. I removed the bottom screw and loosened the two top screws and it came out easily.

The only unexpected problem I ran into was that the connection at the refrigerator end was 'hard wired', i.e., the wiring harness was not removable from the freezer.

After disconnecting the wiring harness from the old ice maker, all I had to do was plug the wiring harness into the new unit, slide it into place, then replace the bottom screw and tighten the two top screws.

Turned the power back on and had ice within 1/2 hour! : )

The old icemaker corroded around the heating element causing a leak into the ice bin. Then it would freeze the remaining ice in the bin into a block of ice.
Unplugged the fridge. Got a light to shine on 3 small screws. Used a pair of channel locks to get the pigtail wiring harness off and the old one was out. Put the new one back in, plugged in the wiring harness and heard the ice bin getting it's first new ice a few hours later.

No ice
After diagnosing the ice maker wasn't working, I got the model & serial number of the refrigerator. Picked the ice maker online by picture, that was a first. Three screws to take the old one out and replace the new. Written directions confirmed there is no manual cycle button on ice maker. Waited a couple hours and checked it, there was ice! Everybody was happy.

Ice Maker died
Searched PartSelect database for replacement. Double checked pictures on website to confirm exact replacement.

After locating the screws, removed icemaker, disconnected cable connection.

Verified new part side-by=side with replacement. Made needed mod to icemaker water inlet. Popped in replacement ice maker, connected wiring harness, tightened screws. Waited for ice to arrive about an hour later.

New inlet valve. very easy. Part select was great. I first ordered a new ice maker, this did not fix the problem. Part select allowed me to return it and get the right part. The repair vidio was great.
