The threads on the yoke shaft stripped.
I had to cut off the old yoke since the threads had stripped and it would not come off. Once I did that all I had to do was to remove 4 screws on the auger motor and replace it with the new auger motor. Then I put the yoke on the new auger motor shaft and then put the unit back in the freezer. Work time was less than 15 minutes with no problems.

Worn out actuator pad on the water/ice dispenser
First I removed the spill tray, and removed the two screws on the bottom of the dispenser. I was then able to remove the front of the dispenser, which revealed 3 more screws. After removing those screws, the entire assembly lifts out. I removed the old pad, put the replacement pad on, replaced all the screws and the tray, and was done! It took about 10 minutes, start to finish. I saved at least $75 on the repair by doing it myself, and the part only took 3 days to arrive. Best of all, the water and ice dispenser works like new! Thanks, PartSelect!

The relay had burnt up.
I Removed the two wires from the old relay. I Then pulled the old relay off the compressor. Next, I had to get the overload seperated from the old burnt relay, which took some care not to break. The old relay and overload is in a plastic compartment. Then I followed the directions that came with the new relay. The only confusion came with getting the two wires back onto the terminals of the new relay, mainly because the old relay was burnt so badly I didn't have any idea how it was originally wired. I crossed the two wires on the terminals of the relay. The compressor would click off and on, but would not start blowing cold air. I swapped the wires on the terminals and it started working immediately.

Ice machine motor broke from housing & fridge door lower hinge worn, so door is staying closed
Just pulled out ice bucket put to the side and then pulled out framed housing that surrounds the ice bucket tray and put on table
went in the rear where the turn motor is and disconnected the wires from the housing next to it and disconnected the motor which had cracked the wal it was mounted to and broke and fell which left a huge hole and the , took the 4 screws out and remounted it onto the new housing rear wall, note that to get the twist key lever that unscrews clock wise you may have to hit wit a hammer bluntly to brak it lose first then it unscrews easy, but this has to be done first before re assembly of the motor as it goes through the new housing wall , once this is donr then put your screw end through the hole and re assemble the wing devise back onto the moter screw drive which it will screw on counter clockwise and tap a few quick times to snug with a ball hamer or a small hammer, T
The hinge door pin is real easy, just unscrew the top of door 3 screwa and lift off the door set aside put new door pin hinge on then set the door back onto the pin hole align up and set it back down in the hinge hole and replace screws on the upper door hinge on top of fridge. all this took about 5 minutes tops, it took me more time to take all the items out of the doorway of my fridge that it did to do the task itself. Hope this could help.

Ice chute flap broke
removed the ice chute door, unhooked the computer board replaced the flap. The only problem was the spring loaded part of the ice chute door come up and the little plunger came loose. It only took a few minutes to replace the plunger back in the holder and replaced the ice chute door. The best part of the whole job was that I ordered the part on Monday afternoon and the part was at my door Wednesday. The Parts did an excellent job of getting the part to me quickly.

replacing thermostat did not help
Icecubes came out half-way, and refrooze. I figured out, that the melter does not work (HEATER in the icemaker) Voltage measured 105V no load. Studied the Internet, and folloved an advice: shorted the back wire and the blackwire with white stripes.these go to relay contacts. It seems, that the relay contacts are no good on Infrared receiver boaed. I turn off manually the icemaker, when needed

Leaking water tube connector/union
Received the union I ordered, then discovered that the tubes were different sizes, so I had the wrong part. I had read elsewhere that it was necessary to trim the two ends of the tubes with a box cutter to stop the leaks - I did this, and the leaking stopped. I was then able to go to a local hardware store and get a 5/16 to 1/4 union and replace it. The leaking is stopped, and the water supply in the door is now working like new. No problem with partselect, but I did buy a caliper so that I can check tube diameters if I ever have a similar problem! This is a great site to find instructions - well worth the time to search!

The plastic ring that is the connection between the drive motor at the back of the freezer compartment to the auger in the ice bin shattered when my wife was dispensing crushed ice.
Part selects cataglog for parts selection was very easy to use and the online service and delivery was great.
When I got the part, it was not apparent on how to remove the auger so that I could insert the new connector. There were about about 8 visible screws, with star drive heads that I fortunately had a screwdriver that fit, and I could not tell if I had to remove all of them or only a couple.
I ended up removing all, but still could not separate the dispenser portion which held the front of the auger from the back of the ice bin. I finally figured out that the dispenser door trip lever had to be disconnected and I almost lost it when I removed the metal clip that attached it to the outside of the ice bin when the spring loaded lever tried to unwind. I managed to hold it in place, separate the dispenser holding the auger from the rest of the ice bin and replace the connector. I them got the pieces back in place and was able to refasten the spring loaded lever and then replace the screws.
If the spring loaded lever had unloaded, it would have been tricky to try to replicate the amount of turns (load) on the spring tension.

frig got warm, compressor would not turn on, heard clicking noise
googled for answer, deduced relay/switch problem. googled again for parts, found partselect.com, ordered part. 2 days later & $70 lighter, my 8yr old Maytag was working again! Parts were good fit, instructions were decent enough. Not for inexperienced tinkerer though.

Ice jammed, water sprayed wrong place
Discovered ice door tab was broken. Ice door out of position.
Disassembled door dispenser, pretty easy, two torx screws on bottom, two on upper part of unit. Slid unit up slightly, it sets over two studs on the top. Unplugged wire connector, set aside unit. Looked on internet for a replacement part. These folks had the easiest to use web site. Found the part, ordered the part, received it next day, but only ordered the least expensive delivery method, since we are both in Florida it worked out well.
I did not know when I ordered this part I would get it this quickly. Because cold air was pouring out of the hole left by the removal of the ice door, I put wide painters tape over the hole on the inside of the freezer door. This greatly reduced the flow of cold air.
After I received the part, I clipped it in place and reassembled the unit, it did not work. The solenoid that moves the door just hummed like it was jammed. I took it back apart and realized that I did not get the bracket that moves the ice door reattached properly. After I made sure the bracket was properly attached, i reassembled the unit and it worked great. It actually took longer to type this description than it did to do the job.
Good Luck, Mike

Icemaker fill tube cracked
The factory installed fill tube was formed and molded, hard plastic. Nothing like the replacement part or the one depicted in the install instructions. To remove it, I had to grip the exterior water tube module with a pair of Visegrip pliers, twist and pull as hard as possible, to expose a section of fill tube. I then had to cut through the tube with a hacksaw to remove the module and flange that secure it to the access hole. From the inside, I removed the ice maker and fan shield to expose the remaining section of fill tube. Using a section of copper pipe and a hammer, I was able to drive the tube through the back wall of the appliance. Fitting the new tube was easy. However, it is too short to reach the fill cup. I fashioned a section of the old tube to create an extension which I inserted in the new part. And, much to my surprise, it actually works!
