GZ2727GEHW Maytag Refrigerator - Instructions

It was easy breezy!! I felt like an empowered woman that I did it myself. I simply removed the old shelf supports with a screwdrive and inserted a screw thru the new supports and screwed them in.

1 Remove the two screws at the bottom of the Ice Dispenser faceplate.
2 Carefully remove Faceplate and remove the wire connector on the back side.
3 Remove the three screw holding in the Ice and water dispenser.
4 Disconnect the wire harness going to the dispenser.
5 Remove the Actuator Pad.
6 Unscrew the Limit Switch.
7 There are two wire connectors to be removed. As you remove one place it on the new Switch. Repeat for the other wire.
8 Install the new Limit Switch with the screw that was removed
9 Install the new Actuator Pad.
10 Reconnect the wiring harness to the dispenser.
11 Place the dispenser assembly back in place and reinsert the screws.
12 Carefully reconnect wire harness to the back of the faceplate.
13 Reattach Faceplate to the refrigerator.
14 Install new Dispenser Grill

1/4 turn of old filter. it popped out. Inserted new filter, 1/4 turn and it clicked in. Piece of cake. I'm a freakin' genius.

Unscrewed old filter and screwed in new filter.

googled for answer, deduced relay/switch problem. googled again for parts, found partselect.com, ordered part. 2 days later & $70 lighter, my 8yr old Maytag was working again! Parts were good fit, instructions were decent enough. Not for inexperienced tinkerer though.

The factory installed fill tube was formed and molded, hard plastic. Nothing like the replacement part or the one depicted in the install instructions.To remove it, I had to grip the exterior water tube module with a pair of Visegrip pliers, twist and pull as hard as possible, to expose a section of fill tube. I then had to cut through the tube with a hacksaw to remove the module and flange that secure it to the access hole. From the inside, I removed the ice maker and fan shield to expose the remaining section of fill tube. Using a section of copper pipe and a hammer, I was able to drive the tube through the back wall of the appliance. Fitting the new tube was easy. However, it is too short to reach the fill cup. I fashioned a section of the old tube to create an extension which I inserted in the new part. And, much to my surprise, it actually works!

I removed 3 screws that held face panel in place and unplugged and removed face panel. I removed one screw holding limit switch in place, unplugged switch and removed actuator pad and switch. Installed new limit switch and actuator pad. Repaced front panel and dispensor - now works like a new one.

I followed the instructions supplied by others on your site .They were right on. The repair was simple with the instructions. The service was absolutely superb. I ordered the part one morning.
The next morning Fed EX delivered the part to my door. I will use your site for parts from now on.

First removed the old water filter and replaced it with the filter bypass. Very simple and no tools needed

First I compared the old parts and new parts to see if I had ordered the right thing then I inserted the new stop into the door. Since the stop has a lip that needs to fit into the slot I the door, I used a hammer to push the part up so it would lock into the hole. Very Simple

Watched video. Unplugged refrigerator and popped out switch. In plugged connector and pushed switch in place. Plugged in refrigerator and the light worked

The Ice maker unit had to be removed and the shaft had to also be removed, which required dis-assembling the motor drive. The thickness of the shaft and the bearing fill cup prevents it from simply pushing it in place. Other than that I have Ice.

Popped out with butter knife and unplugged 3 prong connector and reversed with anew switch.

But, unfortunately it got broken again exactly same way as before.
So, I ordered same switch again for 2nd time.

Maytag should recall that Rocker Switch and build with better materials.

Took a putty knife and
Removed the old switch removed the spade terminals from the old switch and replaced them on the new switch and just pushed the new switch back in place

Very easy to order from parts select. Took seconds to replace.
