no ice no movement in Ice maker
Being 50 miles from the Sears with a 7 year old unit, I actually changed out both board (a kit) which was 9 screws. 3 screws in the outside panels, and 2 in the larger board, and 1 on the smaller board. Both both boards plug in. I also changed the actual ice maker which unplugs and slides out on my unit. Remove a single screw (1/4") on bottom to remove a plastic shield that covers/protects the plug in. A plastic arm lock is in the bottom guide tray, push it up first. Then unplug the unit. Three more 1/4" screws in bottom to remove the custom plastic mount. Then reverses the process to install the new ice maker. Total $175 plus 1 hour labor. In 6 months the unit will have paid for the repairs. I hope to get 5 years of service from the job

ice maker not making ice
Removed screws holding face plates in place inside the freezer housing ... unplugged the old emitter and receiver, then plugged in the new emitter and receiver. Screwed the face plates back in place. Actually, this repair took place a few years ago. When my ice maker quit recently, I noticed the red light inside the freezer housing was not blinking properly. I remembered from my previous experience that the pattern of red light blinks was diagnostic, but of course, the pattern is not described in my owner's manual. The installation instruction sheet that comes with this part does give the diagnostic patterns, however. As it turned out this time, when I was ready to install the new parts, I discovered that one of the little ice-flipper thingies (technical term) was caught on the ice cube-freezing tray ... I released the flipper thingy, and, in time I was back in the ice-making business. So the new part is stowed away in the pantry until the present emitter/receiver parts fail ... and I made a copy of the red-light diagnostic pattern to put in the owner's manual. Now, all I will have to do when the existing parts fail, is remember where I stowed the replacement parts!

Ice maker would not release ice cubes
My Ice maker would not release ice cubes, it thought the ice bin was full. So I got on You Tube and looked up how to videos. Partselect videos were the best that I found and the prices were low also. The whole repair took about 15 minutes.

Ice maker stopped working
I first ordered the electronic control boards. However, they arrived with an Instruction Sheet. The diagnostic procedures listed on that sheet identified that the optics were working properly, so did not use the electronics. That left the motor assembly as the culprit. Ordered that. The motor assembly arrived promptly and installed easily - just like the video. Ice maker began making ice immediately. Thank you PartSelect.

light staying on
A very cold and brittle switch in a 17 year old fridge. Used screwdrivers to pry out with some resistance Had to cut the molded plug in half and split wires, because replacement contacts were farther apart than the original. End result, works great.

Internal light did not come on each time the door was opened.
After disconnecting the electricity. I followed the instructions as indicated in the "HOW TO" article on the website. I used a steel putty knife and pried the light switch out of its retaining hole. I worked the right side the most since this is the side with the retaining clip. After I removed the switch I transferred the two electrical outlets to the new switch and easily snapped it into place. Engaged the electric power and tested the switch.

Door Light switch cracked Mounting
I noticed that the refrigerator was having trouble maintaining temperature. Thought it might be time for new one until I found out that a new frig was $5k to $7K. Just happened to notice that the light switch didn't look quite right (was not sitting sqaure to the door). Once I pressed it it came loose. I then realized the the lights were staying on (50 watts of heating). Replaced the switch and the frig started working like new.
