Water filter cap on my Whirlpool refrigerator was inadvertently disposed of in one of my earliest filter change efforts. I needed to replace it for esthetics and personal peace of mind.
Ordered the replacement filter cap. Received it, cut open plastic shipping envelope after unsuccessful attempts to tear envelope by hand, snapped cap in place; Wallaah, project completed successfully!!!

Light in the refrigerator didn't work
I did exactly as the video showed. I popped out the old switch, disconnected the two terminals, connected the new switch and put it back. The light now works! The refrigerator is over 25 years old and the switch works! What a great website this is. Couldn't of done the job without Partselect's help.

Refrigerator door was making a "pop" sound when opened fully
The noise seemed to be coming from the closing cam at the top of the door, so we figured it had worn over time and was no longer operating smoothly, but rather popping into place when the door was opened all the way. We ordered a new cam, which was about $20 for a quarter-sized piece of metal with two holes in it. Expensive for what it was, but cheaper than calling a repair person for sure. Our first problem was how to disengage the spring that closes the door. It was hard to get a purchase while standing on a stool and the tension on the spring was very tight. Finally my husband rigged up a sort of pulley system to get more leverage and was able to get the spring off. The next problem was removing the screw that held the cam assembly in place. We were afraid we were going to have to saw it off, but finally my husband was able to remove it and it was barely salvageable to reuse with the new cam. After that, reassembling the system with the new part and reattaching the spring was relatively straight forward. The good news is, no more annoying popping sound!

water not dispensing from refrigerator
Popped out the old filter from the refrigerator bottom. Removed new filter from the box and pulled off the end caps. Put the end cap on the new filter, aligned the filter( it will only go in one way) with alignment slides and pushed the filter in until I heard it (click) into place. Pushed in the water dispenser tab for a few seconds, but nothing happened. So I waited until the next day and pushed the dispenser in and water flowed out. Repeated this process until the water ran clear. Turned the ice maker back on and a few hours later ice was popping out. Wife's happy, I'm a hero!

Did you know you have to press the button next to the filter before you pull on the filter cap? Like most week end warriors, I just pulled the cap and of course, I broke it! The repair was simple, hopefully, in six months I will remember to press the button!
