KRFC300ESS12 KitchenAid Refrigerator - Instructions

I removed the Deli Drawersvegatable and fruit drawers. Removed the glass panel. Removed the screws holding the Endcap and snapped the old one out. A back panel strip that controls the humidity snapped out. I installed the back panel to the new endcap. Installed the new endcap snapping it in place and used the screws to keep it in place.
It was not difficult and everything fit perfectly. The only thing it takes is a little understanding as to how it all fits together. It took about 20 minutes.

Two phillips head screws out to remove drawer slide. Three screws to remove right side drawer support. New support placed, new lid snapped into place. The right side has an adjustment lever. Re-routing that took the longest. The arm had to be removed and twisted to get the adjustment knob off and on.

I'm a 37 year old woman who has never worked on a fridge before, ever.
I was able to google how to run diagnostics on it and determine what the issue was.
Once I received the part I was able to take apart the freezer to get to the motor. Remove the old motor and install the new motor.
This was extremely easy I watched a couple of the youtube videos provided here and now it's running just fine.

Pulled out old gasket and new one pushed right in with ease.
Removed drawer trim and snapped in on new one in 30 sec. took longer to empty the drawer than it did to replace

I ordered the wrong shelf. Width was correct but the Depth was not. Started the return process and I'm seeing its still processing. This is since 2/28/2024. 3 Weeks ago. On that same day I ordered what I hope is the correct one, but still haven't received it. Fingers crossed something happens soon.

This is a simple repair, the gasket is pressed into a groove in the door and only needs to be eased out (pulled) by hand and the new gasket pressed back into place by hand. Starting the installation in one upper corner to make alignment easy. The side of the gasket with the table face center. For this model remember the doors are not symmetrical and the gaskets are a different size for each door. The gaskets come folded which puts a kink in the gasket. I set them out in the warm sun to straighten out before installing.

Actually shouldn't you have included installation instructions with the product?
I had to search for installation instructions on Utube or the job would have ended in another cracked crisper frame.

I followed the video provided by Part Select. I also let the refrigerator stay unplugged overnight with all the doors open. This p-trap kit has fixed the leaks out of the front of the refrigerator. There is no ice build-up in the freezer. Perfect!

I have to say this was the smoothest repair ever! It was easy to find on the site, ordering was easy, part came, snapped off, snapped on new drawer, FINISHED! Thank you!

The instructions in the package were not helpful. They wanted me to cut the wiring harness and described where to cut based on the wire colors. My wires were not the same color! I removed the light mechanism using a combination of a screwdriver, putty knife, and plain old muscle with my fingers! The wiring harness unplugged easily and the new one inserted. It was easy to push the whole assembly back into the door. I spent more time looking for something to cut the wiring harness with (and never did find it) than the whole job actually took without needing to cut anything!

Disconnect plug from wall. Insert putty knife between light switch.and trim panel , apply pressure to depress plastic spring holding switch in place. Apply a slight twist too putty knife releasing switch from trim piece. This wil expose plug connected to switch. Disconnect plug from switch. Connect new switch to plug. Insert switch into trim. Plug refrigerator into wall socket.

Remove existing bin by lifting up and out of refrigerator door. IInstall new bin by sliding into the door and pressing down onto the "clips" or attachments in the door. Done.
