The ice maker stopped making ice
I removed the two attachment screws and lifted the old icemaker out and disconnected the plug. The new one was identical to the old one so the installation was just a reversal of the removal. The water soleniod was sticking from not being used so I took it apart and cleaned it. The next morning I had ice. The part arrived at my door in less than 24 hours from my order placement.

Unit wasn't producing ice
It actually took me longer to think about the repair than actually doing it. It was three screws, two upper that you just loosen and then one on the bottom that you remove. Pulled the unit out and disconnected the power. Slipped the new unit onto the two upper brackets, after connecting the power cord, tightened the bracket screws, reattached the bottom set screw and I was making ice. Incredibly easy. When I ordered the replacement unit they said it would arrive in 3-5 days, but it only took a day and a half. Great experience all the way through. I'm a customer for life.

Icemaker was leaking whenever icemaker was set to on position
We followed the video on the KitchenAid website. We turned off water valve at the wall, unplugged the refrigerator, removed the old icemaker by unscrewing the three mounting screws. We unplugged old icemaker from electrical source at back of refrigerator freezer compartment and removed it. We detached the on/off bar from the old icemaker and installed it on the new icemaker. The new icemaker fit perfectly. We plugged in the electric wire to the existing power cord at the back of the refrigerator freezer compartment. We placed the new icemaker in the same position as the old, making sure the mounting screw holes were aligned. Plugged refrigerator back in and turned on the water. Works beautifully.

fridge door switch did not work
I removed the switch housing (4 screws), replacing the switch in the housing was a snap. It took 5 minutes, cost $8 and light works like new!

Why didn't I order this part and do the repair earlier? Very simple.

3 screws and plugged in the new ice maker. It was slightly difficult to unplug the old ice maker and place the plug in the new ice maker. Still really easy. New ice maker works great!

defective ice maker
First 1/4'' nut driver was needed. Then i proceeded
to remove the nut just below the ice maker in a
white bracket. Then i loosen the two nuts at top of
icemaker, enough to lift it off the clips. Then that
allowed me to unplug the plug in rear socket. Then
you plug in the new plug that came with icekaker
and reattach ice maker making shore the two top
clips slide into each other. Do not tighten unto you
incert bottom screw in lower bracket.Make sure
icemaker is push all the way up ,then tighen all
screws.

Ice maker wouldn't cycle. Water dumped in freezer.
The ice maker is held in by three screws. There is an electrical connection. Also, there is a water line to the rear of the unit.
The replacement unit had clear instructions and a selection of parts to match the defective device.
Hint: don't discard the old unit until the new unit is configured for installation.
Turned on the water and the electricity to the fridge, and had ice in several hours.

Ice maker quit
Looking at the instructions it looked like I had to rewire the the plug in the adapter. As it turns out, you don't .Using a screw driver, I released the braket mount and the nut driver loosened the nut holding the tray to the wall. It came right off when you lift it straight up and the wire assembly was exactly the same as the original. All I did was plug in the new ice maker, Hang the assembly on the loosen nuts and tighten again and put the screw back in the bottom bracket that held it in place. I spent longer looking at the instructions than I actually did in the whole replacement time. By morning we had a good amount of ice. EASY>>

Ice maker stopped making ice
First I unpluged the refriderator and removed the old ice maker. I then just simply installed the new ice maker. It was just that simple. The next morning I woke up with a full tray of ice.
