ice maker not calling for water to make ice.
I removed the screws that held the unit in place, and also the screws that held a plate that covered where the unit plugs in. I unplugged the unit, and removed it. Put the new one in, reversing the steps. Turned the new unit on, and had ice in 45 minutes! Summer is coming, I need my ice maker! This is the second unit I have replaced on this refrigerator, the first one was not releasing the cubes. This second one was a different style than the first, but same install process.

ICE MAKER gave out after 20 years
TURN WATER OFF TO REFRIDGE. TURN OFF ELECTRICITY.

Remove old ice maker (AFTER REMOVING THE BIG ICE TRAY) by disengaging two philips head screws but don't totally unscrew them. You must then totaly unscrew the bottom screw below the top two screws. Unplug the 5 head connection. (electricity)

Use adapter for the electrcity, etc from the box, (five head connection) Use the old plastic hose to hit the new cup. TIGHTEN TOP SREWS. LEVEL BY EYE. Turn the system on. Prime with some fresh water.

PS make sure that the light is on (green) and you will be in ice city. Be careful not to disengage the elcectic head when replacing the big ice tray.

Ice maker quit working, I took it apart and found a broken wire at the thermostat, soldered it back, but apparently it got too hot.
It took longer to remove the ice bucket and frozen food than it did to replace the ice maker. Remove one screw with a 1/4" nut driver, slide outward and remove plug. transfer water tube to new unit. plug it in, slide into rear slots and install one screw. Replace ice bucket and frozen food, shut the door and hear ice falling in about 30 min. Easy job! Great product! THANKS MJS

Door closing cam (made of Plastic) just wore out with age and broke in half
Took the door contents out and put them on the counter, took the door off the hinges by unscrewing the 2 screws on the top of the Fridge and lifting the door off the hinge onthe bottom. Then laid down the Fridge on the kitchen floor and replaced the Door Closing Cam, keeping in mind the order of the 3 shims and other things on the bottom of the door. Simple.

My Icemaker arm was broken. It didnt move up or down by itself.
I removed the ice tub. Removed the screw on the left side that holds closed the section where the icemaker plug is connected. Disconnected the plug. Then removed the bottom right screw. I was then able to remove the Icemaker by unhooking it from the bcak freeze wall. I disconnected the icemaker from the fan gaurd. Removed the icemaker cover. unscrewed the 3 icemaker screws and opened up the chamber. removed the old Ejector Blade Drive Cam by removing the outer srew that hold the gear to the icemaker. changed the cam with the new one and reassembled everything.

Ice maker would not work.
Removed the Ice maker from the freezer because the light was not on. Disassembled ice maker, found printed circuit board had shorted across two posts because the board was black in that area. Bought new ice maker assembly, installed in less than five minutes, making Ice fine.

Refrigerator door would not close by itself - would stay open when you thought it was closed
1st: Order (2) closing cams! One for the hinge pin / bracket and one for the bottom of the door.
The closing cam on the door was where the Dremel type tool is required, since you have to grind the head off of a factory rivet.
I installed the cam with an aluminum pop rivet.
Next, remove the bracket on the bottom of the door with sockets and install the second closing cam.
Re-attach the top door hinge pin and align visually; tighen all bolts. Job finished, but more important , my wife is not nagging me about the repair that I put off for over a year!!!!

Door would not stay open
Removed the top cover using a Phillips screw driver to access the top 2 screws holding the bracket. Once the bracket was removed, lifted the door off the bottom hinge. Replaced the door closing cam, replaced shims and screws. Placed the door back on the bottom hinge, inserted the top bracket and secured.
This was the ultimate resolution to the problem. The problem I encountered was getting all of the correct parts. It took me 3 tries to finally identify and receive the parts needed to make the repairs. Using Part Select made it easy because they had the parts I needed. My 3 tries were partly my error and does not reflect on Part Select. I would recommend others use Part Select when choosing their replacement parts.

Problem closing door, would not shut easily.
My wife and I gave an old, but really good refergerator to our son (a Major in the Army). Upon taking it into his house he had to remove the doors of the refergerator. While he put the doors he lost the "cam" for the door, making if difficult to close (actually had to lift the door up and then close it). I ordered the replacement part, and unless I am mistaken, it arrived the same day. I still cannot figure out how this happened, but it was great!!
