10644562600 Kenmore Refrigerator - Instructions

Removed upper hinge cover and hinge, lifted door from lower hinge socket, removed lower cam from 'frig hinge, and replaced with new. I had a helper hold the 'frig door while I removed old upper cam, and replaced with new. Piece of cake and works like new! This must be a design problem..

Removing the panels inside the freezer section was the most difficult ,because it is narrow,hard to fit your body inside compartment, in order to cut wires and to splice Bi-metal Defrost Thermostat wires (2 ) Watch the videos on the web site so you know where to start. First time I ever "repaired " a large appliance, saved me over $ 600.00 (that's what the people I bought the Refrigerator from wanted to charge me.) My parts cost 65.00 !!!!! My younger brother turned me onto the web site... , I'll be returning to the site and telling my friends about it. It's a total "rip off" what service organizations charge the general public these days from Car Dealer ships to the stores we purchase our appliances from. !!! Glad I still have my health and faculties to repair the essentials we have around our homes. !!!!

I noticed that everytime I plug the refrigerator cord into to the wall outlet it would trip the shock prevention safety switch on the wall outlet. I came to the conclusion that something was blocking the electrical current to flow to the compressor. I figured if I changed the the part attached to the compressor then the electricity would be able to make a complete circuit to the compressor. so I got the part # from the old part and I researched it through your company. You had the part in stock. I ordered it and it was at my door the next day. It worked extremely well. I proudly can say I did it myself and most importantly I don't need a new refrigerator and I save a lot of money. thanks I will definitely use your company in the future. Ray

Approximately:

1. Unplugged refrigerator.
2. Emptied Freezer.
3. Removed Ice Maker.
4. Waited a few hours for ice to melt around back panel & nuts.
5. Removed back panel and the cover over fan and fan motor.
6. Waited many more hours for ice to thaw over fins, wiring, etc.
7. Easily replaced the bi-mental defrost thermostat.
8. Replaced panel, fan cover, ice maker.
9. Plugged in refrigerator and waited a bit.

This worked! Yahoo.

p.s. I am a 65+ year old mechanically minded woman. :-)

I just slid the new pan in , partselect has the correct part all the time , I repalced my ice maker once and it took 15 min no problem

plastic warped in ,spaced out and, the socket snapped back in place.

Using a 1/4" nut driver and a philips screwdriver I removed all the screws in the shelf brackets and coil cover and removed coil cover. Removed fan blade and then faulty motor (held in with clips) Installed new motor-two wires (power) and ground (green) pushed fan blade back on and tested, then reinstalled all panels and shelf brackets.

First I removed all contents from inside refrigerator door.Then I removed (1) 10mil screw,which holds cover for top hinge.Next I removed the (3) hinge screws,and lifted door off of bottom hinge.Pulled off plastic closure cam from bottom metal hinge post.I cleaned metal post ,applied a small amount of vaseline to post, slid on new plastic cam,installed door, replaced screws.Very easy,10 to 15 min tops.

Remove old tray, replace with new tray.

Simple & easy.

Best part is I ordered on Monday & received on Tuesday!

Whirlpool refrigerator laid down on us on a Friday morning. Local repair center would not be out until Monday noon. $89 service charge plus labor and parts estimate. Golly Miss Molly! Just replaced the switch, but unfortunately that was not the problem; nor was it the bulb....so I am back to square one.

The broken part was removed and new part installed without any trouble.

I followed your instructions , the only thing that was left out was that the freezer has a drain hole that had to be thawed out with a hair dryer,till the water went to the drain pan underneath the ref. your instruction were through enough, that's why I purchased the part from your company, I installed the part 2 days ago and its working like new again 23.00 for the part instead of 1200.00 dollars for another ref. thanks very much. 6 months ago I purchased the relay and compressor starter from your company at that time per your instructions I shook the compressor starter and like a light bulb it had something broke inside,I needed that thanks again oomk

because one of mine got broken somehow over the years and I ordered an extra door bin because I had space for one and needed the extra room for more small jars of condiments etc. I also ordered an extra shelf for more storage room for food dishes etc. instead oJust placed them in position on the door and on the back grid.
Simple and done !!!

Very easy. Take panel off and replace motor.. All wires matched fine. Easiest applance repair I've done..
