Installed new motor control

I played the install video a couple of times to assure myself that it was that easy. The video indicated that I actually had to remove the ice maker it install the motor module but in my case I did not really have to. I simply pulled off the plastic cover plate, removed the 3 phillips head screws and exhanged the new module for the old one. I turned the power and water back on and waited for something to happen...nothing did! After about 15 minutes and no noticeable electric or water flow activity I pulled the refrigerator out away from the wall to check the incoming water line and suddenly I heard water flow to the icemaker and within the next hour I had my 1st batch of cubes. Since then everything appears to be working and we have ice cubes for Christmas. All in all it was a pretty easy and inexpensive fix and probably saved me well over a $100.

Old ice maker leaking water and produced ice cubes with black inclusions. First, I removed old ice maker per video instructions. Transferred electrical cable, cover, and bail to new ice maker. First installation failed because I failed to make sure water tube correctly enter back of ice maker. No ice. Initially thought electrical cable wasn't firmly in place. Then I noticed frozen water dripping down back of freezer. A clue! Removed ice maker and reinstalled making sure water tube went through the hole in back of ice maker. Now the new ice maker works beautifully!

Took the front of the ice maker off. Noticed the arm inside was broken, found the part on your site and ordered it.....super fast delivery. Replace the moter assembly and off she went. had ice in about 30 minutes. Thanks for your services and I will highly recommend you to others......Thanks again.

Installed the icemaker control assembly this corrected the problem suspect contacts on the old unit were not making a good contact over time, due to the damp area in the freezer the new unit corrected the repair easy repair.

****Make are you order Capacitor & Starter relay too (we ordered separtely so had to pay shipping twice)**** Super easy just open access panel on back near compressor and remove retention clip with fingers, remove & replace both capacitor & starter, put clip and access panel back on, plug in and allow 8 hours to cool! Works like new again! Hope it goes another 10 years

I was amazed when Fed Ex pulled up to our front door the following day after I ordered the parts, I was wondering what they were delivering and to my amazement it was the parts I had ordered from parts select the previous day , thank you so much , you are awesome. My 73 year old husband who is a 5 year cancer survivor had the part installed and we were ready to start making ice within 1 hour.He went by the installation information sent in by your customers. Loosen the screws on the sidewall (don't take them all the way out and drop them on the floor as I did) and remove the screw from the bottom bracket. Change out the electrical wires and the wire level sensor that does not come with the new unit. Put the new one in place and give it some time to cool down and make ice ( don't be impatient like I was and think the new unit was bad or that you replaced the wrong part)

Removed and disconnected the icemaker, cleaned all areas and disassembled the failed parts. Reassembled with the new parts inlcuded with the purchased package and resinstalled the unit. Started the unit and chedked for proper operation. Successful repair.

Phillips screw driver. Less than 5 min.

I did not do the repair yet, there is no schematic on how to route the hose; also no description of how to do the routing/connections.

after reading reviews on changing the control module I decided it couldn't be very difficult. I was rewarded because it wasn't. It took less than 20 minutes to change the module. At first I was concerned because the wheel did not start turning as soon as power was connected. I discovered this is normal and 30 minutes later the icemaker was making ice again. Simply remove the 3 screws, carefuly pull the module away from the shutoff arm, and pull it out. putting the new one in is the exact reverse. You just have to realign the ejecter cam in the icemaker with the new module so it slides right in.

Did not have to remove the complete ice maker. Only the front part that housed to motor assembly. Two Clips removes to cover and three screws removed the motor unit and the rest was in reverse. No wires to disconnect or connect. It just plugs in to unit. Works great and cheaper than from Sears Parts Direct shipping cheaper also. Will buy from Part Select again.
