Not knowing the history of the refrigerator/freezer and observing that the icemaker would cycle (ice ejector fingers would rotate when the off/on arm was toggled), I concluded that the water valve must have some hard water scale in it which was causing it to stick. I replaced the water valve and the exact same behavior continued. By elimination, I concluded that the microswitch in the icemaker must be sticking. I removed the icemaker, used a hair blow-dryer to heat/dry out the microswitches and then a little shot of WD-40 on the mechanical arms, switches, and cams fixed it.

Read the previous instructions given by other responders, they're spot on. But, in short. . .
Remove all food items from the inside of the door.

Remove Phillips head screw holding top hinge cover, remove cover.

Remove top hinge bolts, making sure not to let the door fall.

Lift door off of bottom hinge.

Dig-out broken bearing.

Install new bearing.

Re-assemble door in reverse order.

**Removing the broken bearing piece turned-out to be the most time consuming part of the job. Incredibly easy fix.

removed water tray, used a razor blade to brake the seal from the face plate and the fridge, The hardest part was the three screws holding the dispenser face place on where rusted over. I wound up drilling them out. Once the screws removed, a slight lift, the face plate comes right off. I unplugged the cable, and set it aside. Now remove the next three screws, and the dispenser falls forward, (as far as the water line allows) undo the screws leaving the one emplace to hold the ice lever. push up twist. The hard part is getting the new one up and in. just takes a little patients.

From discussions with friends, I determined the problem might be easy to fix. The fridge made a lot of noise, but the compressor DID come on, and inside the freezer was cold, but the main fridge was warming.

After unplugging the fridge, I removed the fan assembly in the freezer (there were about 4 nuts and a couple of plugs to uncouple.

I could see right away the fan blades has broken off, but the motor looked good. The new new fan pushed easily onto the shift and fit perfectly in the housing.

I reinstalled the fan assembly, plugged in the fridge, and right away heard the new fan come on - very quietly. What was a roar became a whisper and the fridge was down to 38 degrees with a few hours.

Took me weeks to find the noise after I checked everything electrical in the house including replacing all batteries. Finally, an electrician isolated it to the refrigerator.

Frigidaire Model FRS26LH5DS9 Found several YouTube videos for reference.

Replaced the Run Capacitor and Compressor Start Relay.

Unplug and remove the back panel. On the bottom left side, detach the two old parts together from the compressor. Use a large flat screwdriver to pry them out. (They are held in place with a wire you must first remove.) Plug one new part onto the other and then insert it as one part.

Easy Peasy. The hardest part is getting your hand in a small space and putting back the wire that holds them in.

Don't call a repairman - fix it yourself....

Downloaded a schematic of the ice container. Disassembled the ice container, keeping track of which different type of screws went where. Followed the schematic to ensure proper sequence of blades and spacers. Manually rotated unit prior to installing into the freezer in case of binding. Finished.

I ordered a replacement on-line (real simple, visual aids helped more than model nos). Once I received it in the mail, I installed it (no tools required) and now my water filter and ice maker are back to doing what they do best!

I got the part, hitched it up and it started working right away it fit in easily, and the directions were easy to follow thank you

took the screw out of the white flange on the top of the door that attaches to the top of the refrigerator. Then removed the cover , and the two screws attached to the refrigerator top. Then lifted off the door removed the bottom plate that is holding the plastic door holder. and replaced the broken part and replaced the bottom plate , set the door back on the hinge and installed the top two screws and the flange cover and the last screw holding the flange cover in place. It actually took longer to type this than the repair

It was real easy took the lines off one by one put them on the new unit one by one same with the three plugs than tighten new unit back on fridge.

Had to disassemble the entire ice maker bucket. Simple and straightforward, didn't need any pictures or reference materials. Just time consuming.

Removed the door marking the top hinge placement prior to removal. Pulled the door the rest of the way off. There wasn't anything keeping it attached on the bottom right side. Turned the door upright dug out the old broken cam and replaced it with a new one. Thank you for your web-site. It saved us $$$ you have gained two new fans to your web-site. I removed the screws holding the shield covering the filter housing and cup. Unscrewed the cup, removed the filter. Then removed the pressure fittings holding the water lines on the housing. Then I removed the housing. Reversed the process with the new housing.

No big deal. I took out the glass in the frame, took out the meat drawer, and removed the broken frame, which doesn't take any tools. After removing the frame, I inserted the new frame, which pops in to two clips in the back, and two in the front on each side. I cleaned the glass and put it into the frame. I re-inserted the drawer into the frame. And VOILA!

The repair was not it. It was the customer service by the ladys that answered the phone. Both of them were the same as to give me a perpaid return shipping label and my money back. It was like being at the return desk at W.M. and not like at some of the on line service I have come to know...
