59666039702 Kenmore Refrigerator - Instructions

Followed easy instruction video. It was like new in fifteen minutes.

Removed the glass shelf, position the rail in its slots and replaced the glass shelves.

Removed both crispers and shelf . Inserted new rail as explained in video. Replaced everything.

I initially thought the defrost heater or sensor were bad and replaced them. About a week later the problem reappeared. I ordered the control board assembly and after arrival I did the following: Went on-line, located the part on the fridge parts diagrams and figured out how to remove the controller cover (use two flat screwdrivers from behind). After the cover removal unplug the two connectors and lift out the sensor from its mount. Remove the LED Display/Button Board then the microcontroller board. They literally lift out. With the new controller you have to gently break the display board from the controller - the board is scribed along the break-away area. Do this on a flat surface. The actual board installation and hook-up took less than 5 minutes to reassemble. MAKE SURE THE REFRIGERATOR IS UMPLUGGED - I should have said that FIRST.

Removed the storage bins. Removed the whole shelf, remove the glass part.(clean everything while you are at it, which is why it took 15-30 minutes) Lift out old rail and replace it with the new, reinstall shelf and glass. If you choose to not to clean, just take out the glass shelf, replace rail and put it back in. .

The instruction video was so helpful. I watched it before I ordered the part to be sure I was able to make the repair. The replacement part arrived quicker than I expected. Cleaning the shelf & bins was the most time consuming part of the job. The replacement part fit in place perfectly. My fridge is good as new again!

Removed the six screws holding the bottom access plate found at the rear of the refrigerator. This gives you easy access to the run capacitor that has a retaining clip. Remove the wire clip and pull out the capacitor (it has two quick disconnect terminals). Reverse the process using the new run capacitor to complete the repair.

Noted the Damper Assemby in the upper rear of refrig section,was always staying open during checks for problems. Controls appeared to be controlling temp changes when adjusted. Pulled the damper assemby after removing two screws holding the diffuser/cover(diffuser pops off with screwdriver) Damper assembly snaps out , unplug wires, snap new damper assembly in place, reconnect wires at the plug, replace cover with foam insulation, secure with screws replace diffuser snaping in place. Recheck settings for desired temperatures.

It was easy to find on the site because of the great diagram of my Amana and it was super easy to repair- just had to drop it in place - paid 20 dollars with shipping - Im sure it would have cost me over $100 if I would have called a repair man

First I watched the How To video on the repair process. Then I followed the steps on the video and was finished in no time at all. Very simple! The ordering and delivery of the product was also quick and efficient.

I followed the video instructions and had no problems changing the part.

Unplug the refrigerator and pull it out so you can work behind it.I had to get a helper to lean the refrigerator forward and let it rest on a towel I placed on the countertop. The tray was underneath the refrigerator near the back so I leaned it forward enough to remove the metal plate that holds the tray in place. I placed a scotch behind the front wheels to keep it from rolling backward off the counter it was resting on. I had to remove the cover from the unit on the lower back side of the refrigerator to see how the tray was moumted. Once you remove the plate you have to slide the fan off the tray and then you can remove the tray. Simply reverse the whole process to install the new tray, upright the refrigerator and plug it back in to the outlet.

Dropped down the front control panel were you program the the tempertures when you open the doors. This just pops down from the front. Then change out the printed cicuit broad two wires all done.

Removed back cover. Removed fan with mount which was a little difficult. Installed new pan and parts that were removed. Part came in one day. Great service.

It was so simple! Removed the glass shelf that sits atop the vegetable bins, inserted the center crisper rail, put the glass shelf back on top of it and replaced the vegetable bins. I loved that I didn't have to bother my husband to do it! Very happy at how fast the part came after I ordered it.
