The icemaker on the refrigerator had stoped working.
Repair was real easy, I had to remove several screws in the bottom of the icemaker module housing. The unit slide out with no problem there was a wire assembly that hat to be disconnected but this did not present a problem. The old module came out real easy after removing 4 screws and the replacement was not a problem to but in.

Ice buildup in freezer causing leaking water into fridge section
In my case the defrost thermostat was not the problem. Not worth going through the hassle of checking the thermostat as I would have had to cut it out and test it in another freezer (while the food that was in the freezer was being stored elsewhere). I just ended up buying it and replacing it. So, like I said the defrost thermostat was NOT the issue. I ended up getting a drain tube heater strap, and have been keeping my eye on the fridge. It hasn't been long enough to say the strap fixed the problem, but all indications are pointing to that being the case.

Ice maker quit and Ice dispenser
The ice maker had quit before and I fixed it by taking it out to thaw. When it quit working the second time thawing it out didn't do the trick. The dispenser still worked so we were buying bagged ice. The dispenser lever fell apart and my wife said fix them both or "I'm calling a repairman." My in-laws recently had a bad experience with an appliance repair service and my motto is that "if it's already broke I can't hurt it anymore" Found the Parts Select site and started reading everyone instructions. During the summer, our electricity had went off several times,so I figured that the icemaker control and motor assembly was the problem. Watched the installation video, and followed the instructions. Used parts diagrams and super glue to piece dispenser lever back together. Wife is happy and we saved $

My fridge did not have icemaker add on. The evap fan is in the freezer behind the back panel. Empty the freezer section (into a cooler) and turn the fridge off. Remove all the shelves in freezer section. Remove the shelf support tabs by lifting them up. use phillips head screwdiver to remove back panel in freezer section. Use nut driver to remove fan shroud. Ice maker motor was buzzing. Unable to discharge ice.
I first turned off the refrigerator. I then used a hair dryer to melt and release the ice by warming the bottom of the mould. Then I turned the fridge back on and let the icemaker discharge the ice. I then turned off the icemaker and ordered the new part. I unplugged the fridge, removed the icemaker (three screws and an electrical connection). Then I replaced the heater/tray with the new one and turned everything back on. Within a couple of hours we began having ice again.

Icemaker not producing adequately
Thought The issue was the solenoid valve. Took a lot of research but finally found through parts select. Perfect match and easy to install, but unfortuantely, it did not solve the problem of poor ice production. Now would appear that the icemaker itself needs to be replaced.

Our icemaker was very sporatic on making ice.
I played the install video a couple of times to assure myself that it was that easy. The video indicated that I actually had to remove the ice maker it install the motor module but in my case I did not really have to. I simply pulled off the plastic cover plate, removed the 3 phillips head screws and exhanged the new module for the old one. I turned the power and water back on and waited for something to happen...nothing did! After about 15 minutes and no noticeable electric or water flow activity I pulled the refrigerator out away from the wall to check the incoming water line and suddenly I heard water flow to the icemaker and within the next hour I had my 1st batch of cubes. Since then everything appears to be working and we have ice cubes for Christmas. All in all it was a pretty easy and inexpensive fix and probably saved me well over a $100.

Ice maker: The gear on the motor module was broken
I had to order the module. It was easy to install. If i could have ordered just the gear and shaft, would have been a lot cheaper. Thanks for the addvise. Bill Paisley
