Icemaker was leaking whenever icemaker was set to on position
We followed the video on the KitchenAid website. We turned off water valve at the wall, unplugged the refrigerator, removed the old icemaker by unscrewing the three mounting screws. We unplugged old icemaker from electrical source at back of refrigerator freezer compartment and removed it. We detached the on/off bar from the old icemaker and installed it on the new icemaker. The new icemaker fit perfectly. We plugged in the electric wire to the existing power cord at the back of the refrigerator freezer compartment. We placed the new icemaker in the same position as the old, making sure the mounting screw holes were aligned. Plugged refrigerator back in and turned on the water. Works beautifully.

Unit wasn't producing ice
It actually took me longer to think about the repair than actually doing it. It was three screws, two upper that you just loosen and then one on the bottom that you remove. Pulled the unit out and disconnected the power. Slipped the new unit onto the two upper brackets, after connecting the power cord, tightened the bracket screws, reattached the bottom set screw and I was making ice. Incredibly easy. When I ordered the replacement unit they said it would arrive in 3-5 days, but it only took a day and a half. Great experience all the way through. I'm a customer for life.

Unit froze up with ice in the cube maker
Just like the others. Unplug the refrigerator. Loosen the top two screw and remove the bottom screw. Unplug the unit, plug in the new one, slid the unit over the top two screws, replace the bottom screw and tighten the top two screws. Done. I ordered the unit Sunday it was shipped Monday and arrived Phoenix Wednesday, shipper then rerouted it to Tucson Thursday who sent it back to Phoenix on Friday and finallydelivered it Saturday.

Ice maker failed
Super easy! I read all these posts but here are a couple helpful hints -
1. to remove the old icemaker definitely remove the one lower screw but then unscrew the top two screws only half way. The top screw holes on the old and new icemakers are triangle shaped so the old icemaker will simply lift off the half-unscrewed top screws. This makes reinstallation SO much easier.
2. carefully lower the loose icemaker enough to disconnect the wiring harness from the fridge and remove the old icemaker.
3. On installation the one thing to be careful with is the positioning of the fill tube. It's easier if it's in place when you reconnect the harness of the new icemaker because the harness is only as long as it must be.
4. hang the new icemaker on the half unscrewed top screws, snug them up, install the lower screw and flip the wire ice level sensor arm down.
I didn't even turn the water off because only a working icemaker can turn the water valve on and off.
Plugged in the power to the fridge and within an hour water filled the tray. By morning I had 2-3 batches of fresh ice in the bucket. Super easy.

The ice maker quit producing ice.
First I removed the ice bin to give me room to work. Then I took out the screws that held the old ice maker in place. I disconnected the wiring. I then plugged the wires of the new ice maker into the old wiring harness. I put in the bottom screws and loosely connected the top screws. I checked the level of the ice maker with a small level and then tightened the screws. The nest thing was to install wire level that shuts off the ice maker when the bin is full. Finally put the ice bin back in place.

Ice maker did not make ice
Ordered new ice maker from this site . Installation was very easy. Was happy to see that many electrical plugs were included. Chose the correct electrical plug and installed in 30 minutes. One note, be patient as it takes a while for ice maker to produce ice. When I heard the sound of ice dropping in the bin, I was very happy. Just in time for summer cold drinks. :)

freezing water tube and frozen rotation bar whuch caused water to overflow and freeze inside freezer.
put arm up to stop icemaker from creating new ice cubes. us nut driver to unscrew 3 of the nuts holding icemaker in place do not completely remove the 2 top screws. lift off the screws and unplug from inside wire connection...make sure water tub is removed and frig unplugged. clean off ice anywhere inside freezer...take out new icemaker and connect wire plug...attach icemaker on to the 2 top screws...use nut driver to tighten into place. add and tighten bottom screw...leave arm down...replace clean and dried water tube into back and make sure it slid into ice maker...tighten screws in back and attatch water hose to tube...plug frid back on slide back into place...will start making ice in an hr or so....

The ice maker stopped making ice
I removed the two attachment screws and lifted the old icemaker out and disconnected the plug. The new one was identical to the old one so the installation was just a reversal of the removal. The water soleniod was sticking from not being used so I took it apart and cleaned it. The next morning I had ice. The part arrived at my door in less than 24 hours from my order placement.

fridge door switch did not work
I removed the switch housing (4 screws), replacing the switch in the housing was a snap. It took 5 minutes, cost $8 and light works like new!
Why didn't I order this part and do the repair earlier? Very simple.
