Refrigerator Water Line Leak
My water line to refrigerator sprung very small leak due to years of rubbing on its own bracket holding it to back of refrigerator. The removal and installation are exactly like shown in the video on PartSelect website. A possible problem can arise when removing and re-inserting the water line into "colletts" on the refrigerator filter housing. The grey circular colletts push in and out, not far, but after years of use can be brittle. If you move the colletts too much, a small part of plastic can snap, and you will then need an entire new filter housing. Be gentle when depressing the collett to pull out and push in the water line.

old inlet tube was leaking and direct replacement was out of stock
I replaced the filter inlet tube with this filter inlet tube because the refrigerator looked the same and I thought it would therefore be approximately correct. It was except for the connection to the copper tube feeding into the plastic tube. The fitting was not compatible and needed to be cut off and replaced with a new ferule and fitting purchased from a local hardware store for about two or three dollars.

Leaking from the supply line to the water filter
Purchased a new line, watched the video. The video was a bit misleading the filter housing does not slide out the front to access the removal of the line. I doing so I broke the clip holding the smaller line had to order the complete housing. 90 dollars it's repaired now so all is well .

The plastic water fill tube got cracked when we moved. I called a parts company and they told me they couldn't just sell me the tube I would have to buy a whole kit for about $50 dollars. I decided to glue the tube. It worked for a while then it started leaking. So I thought I would have to buy
I hand screwed the fill tube into the water tube and stuck it into the freezer hole. I screwed the fill tube to the back of the refrigerator.
Thanks so much! You saved me a bundle!!

Ice maker stopped making ice
This was an easy repair.
First I turned off the breaker that supplies power to the refrigerator, then I followed instructions to remove the old ice maker. I removed the bottom screw and loosened the two top screws and it came out easily.
The only unexpected problem I ran into was that the connection at the refrigerator end was 'hard wired', i.e., the wiring harness was not removable from the freezer.
After disconnecting the wiring harness from the old ice maker, all I had to do was plug the wiring harness into the new unit, slide it into place, then replace the bottom screw and tighten the two top screws.
Turned the power back on and had ice within 1/2 hour! : )

The icemaker on our ice in the door refrigerator quit working
With a little investigation, I found that the ice tray had corroded, and the increased friction was keeping the ice from dumping out properly. It also had apparently damaged the gear motor, and the timing of the ice ejector was off. I went to the Part Select site and found that the icemaker specifically for my refrigerator was significantly more expensive than the universal Whirlpool replacement icemaker, but the two looked similar, so I ordered the universal replacement. When it arrived about 3 days later, I was able to easily remove the standard parts and replace them with the plastic parts and wire harness that were unique to my refrigerator. They fit perfectly, and I had the new icemaker installed in only about 20 minutes, including time spent to remove and replace the plastic parts

Ice Maker was over filling tray and having trouble dumping the ice
I just removed three screws from the old ice maker and disconnected a single set of wires. All I had to do was reconnect the new set of wires and screw it back into the side of the freezer. Anybody could do this repair.

Ice maker didn't work and flooded the ktchen twice.
Removed two screws, pulled the element out and disconnected the wire harness. Reversed the procedure and we were one.
Kept a close watch n the ice maker to make sure we didn't have another flood. The first time an ice cube stuck between the metal bale and the side of the freezer--we had about 50 gallon of water on the floor. Thought we had it fixed and a few days later another flood. Decided to replace the unit and it is working great...Hopefully no more floods.
