Ice maker stopped making ice
Remove 1 screw under ice maker. Gently pull downwards to unhook ice maker. Disconnected 4 pin wire connector. Remove and set aside the cover and wire loop you will need on new ice maker. Reverse the steps to install new maker. Once new ice maker is installed you will have to wait 2-4 hours for ice. There is a thermostat that will need to reach 10 degrees F to operate.

Filter costs ridiculously high!!!
Replaced filter with by-pass plug. For some reason though, ice maker does no longer functions, although there is flow out of the cold water tap. Is the design of the bypass plug such that, when installed, it impedes flow to the ice-maker?

Thanks

Refrig began to trip the GFI circuit in the garage. When plugged into a house interior circuit the lights and fan ran but no cooling in either the freezer or frig.
First of all I want to thank Michael from Carlisle,PA and this site for publishing Michael's info on the wiring specifics on the new 3 connector Start Relay ( WP2262185 ). The original relay only has 2 connectors The 2 orange wires which are combined to one female connector need to be clipped and separated each to its own connector. Refer to Michael's blog as to which wire goes to which connector on the Start Relay. I replaced the Run Capacitor, Start Relay and Overload just to be safe. The Start Relay was the actual culprit.Thank you for an excellent website!

The refrigerator door would not close on its own and needed to be pushed
First we removed screws in the top hinge, then lifted the door up and off the bottom hinge. Replacement of the door closer and lower hinge pin took less than a couple of minutes. Then putting the door back on and screwing the top back on was nothing.

We additionally replaced the puriclean filter which simply was twisting it off and then the new one back on

Broken ice enclosure
The ice enclosure was broken where the element is attached to the enclosure. There was some ice buildup in the ice bin and looks as if the auger got bound up and twisted the element attachment until it broke the housing of the enclosure. We got on line and fround the part at PartSelect. The selection process was very easy since PartSelect had all the parts pictured and described. We ordered the part first thing on a Monday morning and received the part Tuesday morning. We are very inpressed with the company and the fast service in receiving the part. Thank you. If the need arises we will order from you again and recommend you to friends.

ice maker was over filling and causing water to flow into ice dispenser and freezing it al together
First turned off the water and unplugged the refrigerator and then removed the old ice maker by first removing the side cover plate and then next removed the ice level detector. Remove the screws that hold the ice maker in place and rotating it somewhat soas to gain access to the wires and then unplugged them. Next I had to modify the way the water comes into the new icemaker by adapting a CPVC street ell to fit into the hole on the side and then hook up the water supply. Installation is just the reverse of removal.
