JSD2488GEB Jenn-Air Refrigerator - Instructions

Remove 1 screw under ice maker. Gently pull downwards to unhook ice maker. Disconnected 4 pin wire connector. Remove and set aside the cover and wire loop you will need on new ice maker. Reverse the steps to install new maker. Once new ice maker is installed you will have to wait 2-4 hours for ice. There is a thermostat that will need to reach 10 degrees F to operate.

I took off the backing off the back of the refrig. & the water valve with a nutdriver. Then unpluged two wire connectors & disconnect three water lines. Pulled out the old valve & hooked-up the new valve in reverse order. It don't get any easer than that. The dripping water dispencer was no more.

First we removed screws in the top hinge, then lifted the door up and off the bottom hinge. Replacement of the door closer and lower hinge pin took less than a couple of minutes. Then putting the door back on and screwing the top back on was nothing.

We additionally replaced the puriclean filter which simply was twisting it off and then the new one back on

First of all I want to thank Michael from Carlisle,PA and this site for publishing Michael's info on the wiring specifics on the new 3 connector Start Relay ( WP2262185 ). The original relay only has 2 connectors The 2 orange wires which are combined to one female connector need to be clipped and separated each to its own connector. Refer to Michael's blog as to which wire goes to which connector on the Start Relay. I replaced the Run Capacitor, Start Relay and Overload just to be safe. The Start Relay was the actual culprit.Thank you for an excellent website!

removed the front panel on freezer door ,removed and disconnected panel ,removed panel containing solenoid,replaced with new solenoid. replaced all parts. works perfect..

Once I identified the bit that would remove the screw, the rest of the repair took 5 minutes. I removed the screw and discarded the remains of the original but now broken shelf support. With the same screw I simply attached the new shelf support that I received from PartSelect.com. End of story.

Spoke to Rep.Advised that several parts might be involved. Replaced 3 recommended parts and frig works like brand new. Saved hundreds of dollars in repairman costs.l. Plus $1000.00 for cost of new frig. If you can walk and chew gum at the same time? Easy fix. Very skilled Rep's!! Excellent service!! Great prices!! Highly recommend!!

I was told to order the run capacitor and the technician thought it would repair the refrigerator; but it did not. The appliance technician had to take the run capacitor off and install what he called a "hard start" and the refrigerator is operating right now.

Part received was what I needed. There was one issue--the 'feed' opening to receive water and direct it into the ice tray was a side feed and what I needed was a back feed. That means I had to do some exchanging of parts to make it work. That exercise took more time that the actual installation.

The ice enclosure was broken where the element is attached to the enclosure. There was some ice buildup in the ice bin and looks as if the auger got bound up and twisted the element attachment until it broke the housing of the enclosure. We got on line and fround the part at PartSelect. The selection process was very easy since PartSelect had all the parts pictured and described. We ordered the part first thing on a Monday morning and received the part Tuesday morning. We are very inpressed with the company and the fast service in receiving the part. Thank you. Turned off main water line at frig. disconnected water line. Lossened 1 screw- removed old unit and cut the two water lines going to the ice and water outlets. Pushed the water lines into the quick connects of the new unit --reconnected the water line-- rescrewed the unit to frig. turn on water . it was fixed.

First turned off the water and unplugged the refrigerator and then removed the old ice maker by first removing the side cover plate and then next removed the ice level detector. Remove the screws that hold the ice maker in place and rotating it somewhat soas to gain access to the wires and then unplugged them. Next I had to modify the way the water comes into the new icemaker by adapting a CPVC street ell to fit into the hole on the side and then hook up the water supply. Installation is just the reverse of removal.

removed three nuts from the top of the door diconected the electrical connections for the ice and water in the door. Removed door by lifting it up about 2 inches, set it aside put new hinge pieces in placed put everything back together. writing this took more time. wanted to add, bought at 2 pm on thursday was at my house by 10am the next day

I removed the one sheet metal screw holding the valve to the side of the fridge. I unhooked the water line, reinstalled the waterline to the new valve and screwed in back to the side of the fridge with the sheet metal screw.

I watched your online video on how to take out the old filter, and then to replace it with the new filter. It was as easy as on the video. Thanks!
