ice cubes maker worked intermittently
turn off water. turn off electricity. empty freezer section of frozen food. remove ice bucket. loosen two screws holding IM to wall of refrigerator. lift off icemaker, and then unplug it as you remove it. INSTALL new IM by: putting new water funnel onto new IM. attaching adapter cord to IM. plug in IM electrical cord to refrigerator and then hang the new IM onto the two loosened screws on the refrig wall. Now tighten the two screws. the extra adapter electrical cord hangs below the new IM, but does not get in the way when you reinstall old ice bucket. reload food, turn on elec and water. PS. i had a crack in the casing of the new IM, so i got a new one, but that one was cracked too. so i just installed the second cracked one. hope it is not a problem.

No Ice
REplaced old icemaker with a new one. Install simple, However that was not the problem. I then replaced the water valve. Still no ice. I check the electric connection was OK. THe problem was the elbow fitting on the top back of the refrigerater leading to the icemaker was blocked with ice.Cleared it and turned water faucet up all the way. Ice maker worked.

Plastic part of icemaker broke
I watched the video and then read the instructions. Emptied and cleaned freezer compartment. Removed old unit and removed part of old unit to be used in new installation. I then installed the new unit and turned the water back on. I let the unit produce over night and through the first batch of ice away. Because of the various regrigerators this ice maker was used I had a little confusion recognizing our model, but worked through this problem useing some common sense. All around I'm very satisfied with the results.

Compressor fan bearing worn. Refrigerator was manufactured 9/78/
I followed the instructions verbatim as others explained. I did it step by step exactly as instructed, The timing was almost exact no more than 30 minutes. I removed the fan the night before the delivery of the new fan and used a small desk fan to cool the compressor. It worked fine in one half hour my freezer read a perfect zero. Thanks for all the help

Ice maker made no ice and no water from dispenser.
After what I thought was a thorough troubleshooting of said problem I replaced the Water Valve Assy which was really easy as the video shared, but it did not fix my problem. I had forgotten to pull the water line apart at the coupling below the doors (this was a troubleshooting step in another area). The water not dispensing was due to the line being frozen! Putting all items in a cooler with a couple blocks of ice and leaving the freezer door open for the length of watching a movie, the water was flowing again. Still no ice though. Ice maker vs mother board at the rear of the fridge, Hmmmm. Went with the ice maker, watched video, ole Steve makes the plugs disconnecting look easy, I had to use a flat head screwdriver to open the clips (he doesn't mention that) and I had 4 screws where he had 3. Also he didn't mention about the instructions which gives you 3 options with your unit. I had to re-use my Plastic Stripper Plate along with the Fill Cup and Ice Maker Insert. After completion of installation and about a half hour later, I heard ice fall, Wooohoooo!!! Overall the experience will make me think to utilize PartSelect again when needed. Reasonable prices and decent shipping time. Now the freezer light is out...

evaporator fan wires separated and shorted out
I removed the back of the refrigerator access panel disconnecte the 3 bolst holding the motor to the fan shroud assembly and removed the burned wires from the recepticle end at the wring harness. The fan motor comes with wire nuts but I chose to use the same style of connector as came with the OEM motor. I purchased the new connectors from NAPA and they are an exact fit. The new motor fit perfectly and has run flawlessly since the installation. It is in an awkward location and that takes time to get yourself into position but once there the assembly is very simple and it is rewarding to be able to use the appliance again. The ordering from the website and phone order are very easy to do and you have what you need in a timely and expeditious manner.

Inside of refrigerator very hot
Noticed the fan was not working properly and went online and found out that was the cause. I immediately ordered the part that night at 8:21pm and received the motor and fan blade the next day. I flipped the refrigerator on its side and removed the 3 hex bolts, took off the fan blade first and removed the wires from the motor. I put in the new motor and then added on the new blade and put the 3 hex bolts back on and the wires. The whole process took about 30 minutes. Piece of cake.

Old Icemaker Stopped Making Ice
Instructions that came with the part were useless. I would have created new problems if I had attempted to follow the instructions. However, once I had the old part removed and put it beside the new part, required repair process was obvious, easy and quick. Frig now makes ice better than it ever did.

Icemaker stopped making ice
I just followed the directions carefully, loosened the screws with a nutdriver removed the unit from the screws, unplugged the unit from the freezer plug, took out the new unit, used the adapter supplied with the unit to match up with the plug in the freezer, carefully attached the icemaking unit to the screws, carefully slid the cord behind the unit, lightly clinched down the screws, checked it with a level and then did the final snug down. turned the unit on and it worked fine. Pretty easy, just take your time, don't rush and it will come out fine.
