HTS22GCPBRWW Hotpoint Refrigerator - Instructions

I visually inspected the compressor and narrowed down the source of the noise to the freezer area. Then I removed the doors and the screws securing the divider panel. Next I removed the bottom panel of the freezer, the styrofoam insullation panel and the evaporator motor. The motor is mounted between two grommets. I replaced the grommet facing the fan blades. The aluminum reflector below the styrofoam insulation panel had also come loose. I reattached it and reassembled the refrigerator in reverse order. The noise is gone!

The hard part was cleaning the dust around the coil and fan area. Its plug and play right after that. Two nuts on the fan housing and a wire harness snaps on and off. Bam! 1,2,3 Up and running. . Like new. . . Thank you ps

removed ice maker, back panel and two additional plastic trim pices to get to fan. Single molex connection for the wires. I got the part the next day. Wasn't expecting part for three to five days. Very impressed!

Was concerned that new icemaker was quite a bit different than the one we were replacing. Called GE to confirm it was correct.

Went ahead and installed the unit, using the supplied electric cable adapter.

A little difficult to deal with the extra cable, but everything worked OK and it's making ice normally.

In freezer box removed shelf, removed 2 screws from back panel, removed 3 plastic covers (1 with 2 screws, other 2 snaped out. Unsnaped defrost thermostat from copper tube then cut 2 wires (yellow & orange) stripped all wires back a little then used 2 wire nuts to reconnect the new thermostat and resnapped back onto the copper tube. Removed 4 screws from evaporator fan housing (original one warped from overheat and caused fan blade to get chewed up) unpluged fan motor wiring and removed ground wire and motor from warped housing, removed fan plade by just pulling on it. Installed new fan blade by pushing it on the fan motor shaft, reinstalled the fan to the housing and the housing into the freezer box. In the frig box I removed the control panel from top of the box by removing 4 screws and unpluging the main wiring plug and the defroster control then reinstalled it all in reverse order. Also had to renew the stick on foam on the evap fan housing. Over all it was an easy task.

I ordered the wrong part, the ice maker assembly, because your diagram was not marked properly. I returned the part and you credited my account. Thanks. Ordered the new bucket. It worked fine. Now I have ice and crushed Ice whenever I want. Thanks.

p.s. I didnt use any tools, but to satisfy you I select nut driver.

First I removed the left condensor fan motor bracket nut, loosened the right motor bracket, dropped the moter bracket down freeing the motor from the rubber grommets.
Pulled the fan off from the motor shaft, pressed the new fan on the shaft and installed new grommets. Replaced the motor bracket and tightened the right bracket nut and checked fan for clearance and free spin. Reinstaled the left bracket nut. Turned on the refrigerator and checked fan for action. Everything worked great.
I did not know the fan replacement came with a compression ring already installed, so now I have an extra compression ring.

We have an older model refrigerator and thought it would be impossible to find a replacement ice bucket for the freezer. Not only did you have the exact part but it came unbelieveably fast. I would use your website again!

I pulled the refrigerator away from the wall and turned off the water to the refrigerator and unplugged it from the wall. After removing the icebucket from the freezer I located the mounting screws, loosened them, unplugged the electrical connection below the icemaker and carefully removed it from the freezer. I unpacked the replacement icemaker, matched it against the original and attached the electrical connection adapter. Using the slots provided on the new icemaker I placed it over the mounting screws after aligning the water inlet pipe properly. I tightened the mounting screws while maintaining the icemaker in a level position. I plugged in the electrical connector. Then I replaced the icebucket, plugged in the refigerator back into the 110VAC outlet, turned on the water and repositioned the refrigerator in it's normal position.

Performed self test.turned off ice maker switch four 5 minutes.Then turn on switch,within 10 seconds,pushed ice paddle 3 times,with 1 second in between each push.Push all the way back and release. Ice maker should cycle and squirt water. My ice maker did neither.I unplugged cord from fridge.So i replaced the ice maker.After a couple of screws had ice again !

Like the other repair story I read about this part, the fridge was cool not cold (58* instead of an ideal 38*), and my ice cream stayed soft in the freezer. I removed the pannels in the freezer with a small socket wrench to find the fan burnt out. When the motor came, all I had to do was move the fan blade and gromets to the new motor. Closed it into the brackets and remounted it to the freezer. The part cost less here than at the factory web site and the fridge works great. Thank you PartSelect.com!

used prior reviews, was good, I was not sure how to remove fan blade. It just pulls off.
space is tight but every thing went ok.

The original design is poor. The evaporator fan is mounted in an upright position just below the ice-maker. A plastic grate mounts over the fan assembly to allow for air circulation. Unfortunately, random chips of ice from the ice maker can fall into the fan, causing the fan to shear its blades. Replacement of the fan blade is relatively simple (accept for having to completely unload the freezer and remove all back covers, the ice-maker auger motor assembly, and the metal evaporator cover). In order to mimimze this from reoccuring, I installed a 1/4'' mesh metal screen over the exhaust ports on the cover. Thus far, this has worked well to keep ice chips out of the evaporator fan.

I watched the video provided by PartSelect twice, then proceeded with the removal and installation. It took me 40 minutes from start to finish. Piece of Cake. Everything works fine now.

Removed back wall cover over coil. Defrost all ice with a hair dryer. Cut white wires and replaced Temperature Sensor. It has been working for a week and no trouble at this time. If you have this system on your GE refrigerator do this before replacing the motherboard. I must admit I was thinking that was the trouble. Motherboard was replaced after 5 years old now 5 years later my thinking is this a 5 year problem. So try the Temperature Sensor.
