HTM17BBSERSA Hotpoint Refrigerator - Instructions

Very easy. Bought a 6-1 screw driver for 1/4” and 5/16” nut drivers ends. 4 screws to remove panel that covers evaporator coil and motor. Remove the foam piece 2 screws, unplug wire plastic clip and motor come off. 2 screws to remove from bracket, replace motor. Put back together and reinstall. Watch video - it helped but very easy to do even if you don’t watch common sense is all you need.

0. As a safety precaution, unplug the range or hit the relevant fuse breaker before you start. You might also want to grab a flashlight. Definitely do not try to do this while the oven is hot.
1. Pinch the wire over the light bulb cap to remove it. This is inside the oven at the back.
2. Pop off the hemispherical glass cap.
3. Unscrew the old light bulb, and screw the new light bulb in its place.
4. Put the cap back.
5. Secure the cap by putting the wire back in its slots on the cap.

No tools needed, the cap is just held in place with pressure from the wire.

Was only two screws after that carefully took the part away unplugging the wires at the same time was plugging in to the new part and was done after 5 or 7 min

1 unplug the appliance
2. remove the rear cardboard cover, giving access to the compressor and condenser area
3. remove the two (condenser motor bracket) mounting screws, then with the motor assembly in your hand remove the the fan blade which is friction mounted to the motor shaft( note the exact position of the fan blade on the motor shaft so you can replace it in the same position when you reassemble), remove the two wires connected to the motor. Also remove the rubber resilient mounting grommets on the motor mount frame as these can harden with age and cause excessive vibration.
4 install the new motor into the mounting frame with the new grommets
5 reconnect the two wires to the new motor (non polarized)
6 secure the mounting frame (with the installed new motor) back in place
7 slide the fan blade onto the new motor shaft
8 screw the rear access panel back in place
plug in the refrigerator. the next time the compressor and condenser fan cycle on, verify operation of the new condenser fan motor

I watched the video online, followed the instructions and within minutes had the part installed. The frig light was working once again! I will say the original switch was very snug and I had to do some very minor scraping of the plastic to get the new part to slide in.

First I removed the ice tray rack lifting it out of the way to reach the back cover of the fan. Then, the whole back inside panel had to be removed. Two screws removed the fan and bracket from the freezer unit. The missing bumper lid just snapped into place. Replaced everything in reverse order. Pretty easy job.

Watched your repair video online. appeared very simple and straight forward. Order the parts in question. They were shipped quickly. Once parts in hand watched video again and then installed new motor and blade in less than ten minutes. Plug power back in and and new part works perfectly. First, I love that fact that my new fridge piece came in the mail in 2 days! I didn't order it as a rush, but I'm so glad it came so quickly! The installation could not have been easier! It took me longer to clear off my broken vegetable pan cover than it did to pop the new one in. My overall experience was amazing and super easy! I'll be back to PartSelect should I need I need to replace anything else in the future.

Turned off the breaker to the fridge because I couldn't reach the power plug to unplug it . Use small flat head screwdriver to pop out the piece, disconnected the rubber prong connectors, inserted the new piece into the rubber prongs snapped it back into place. Flipped the breaker back on and prayed it worked. It did and I saved myself $120 service call.

Started removing screws until I got to the fan (it's easy). Then just took out the old fan and put the new one back in the same way. The only challenging part was putting the clamp back on the fan, but I finally got it. The fridge is finally quiet and we can sleep again! I took out the old shelf and popped in the new one. Took 1 minute or less. The delivery was in 2 days! Amazing experience! My refrigerator feels brand new.

new cover slipped right in place, however, the way the new one is designed, the hump in the front rubs the bottom of the door. you have to make sure you push the door shut or it will remain open .

I must thank yo for sending the fan so fast. If I ever have to deal with any appliance again, you are first on my list.

Find a video on youtube. Remove 6 screws. Pull the Styrofoam part up before removing the panel. Unplug and Remove the fan assembly.
You will need a NUT DRIVER to take the bracket off the backing plate.
I ordered the red grommet and the red bumper. You need TWO of the red grommets if that is the problem. My freezer was about 8 years old, and the grommets were worn and compressed, the bumper was not. Replacing these parts DID NOT FIX the problem. I needed a new motor.
I probably disassembled and reassembled this stuff about 7 times before I got all the parts and tools. Each time I had to unload the freezer.
