Hinge Cam Riser broke - door wouldn't self-close
I removed all of the items in the refrigerator door. I then removed the top hinge cover with a Philips screwdriver, and removed the two machine screws holding the top hinge using a socket wrench. This allowed me to lift the door off the bottom hinge pins and set the door on its side. I removed the two screws holding on the broken bottom hinge cam riser block and replace it with the new one. After tighening it back with a socket wrench, I tried to put the door back in place. I asked my wife to hold the door steady while I lay on the floor to guide the door downward over the bottom hinge pin. I then replaced the top hinge screws and checked the door. It still didn't close on its own! I realized I had to loosen the top hinge screws and adjust the door so that it stands more vertically (evening the gap with the freezer door). With this adjustment, the door closes fine.

Broken light shield in freezer
SUPER easy repair, taking about 5 minutes. After taking out the ice bin, I removed one small phillip's head screw, put the light shield in place, and tightened the screw.

The vegetable pan was broken from closing the door on it too hard when still open
I just slide the new one in place, using exsisting sliders. I had to remove the old grab handle from old pan and snap it into place on new pan.

Dispenser Water Reservoir failed seem
This was a very easy fix. I cut the water lines at the reservoir, coupled the old lines to the new lines with two plastic barbed fittings used for outdoor drip irrigation. All I had to do was pull the old lines out and the new lines followed. Easy as pie!

Rusted Auger and Broken Ice Bin Door
After bagging the ice in the old bin and rinsing out the new bin, I removed 4 screws that held the old ice bin facing/door frame to the old ice bin and the facing came right off. Then I just screwed the facing on the new ice bin, popped the new door into place, and put the new ice bin back into the freezer. Although web descriptions for the parts I ordered referenced GE and other appliance brands and not Kenmore at all, the search engine led me to these parts and everything fit perfectly.

Refrigerator temp went to 60 degrees
Freezer section defroster heater was inoperative.
turned off the refrigerator by turning the right knob in top rear refrigerator to 0.
Used hose on a vacuum sweeper blower side to feed warm air into the bottom rear section. Removed the top plastic panel behind the ice maker to allow air flow to exit through the fan to defrost the freezer coils.
Placed a flat oven pan into the area beside the vacuum hose and sponged up the melted frost water. After 30 minutes, water ceased to drain.
Removed freezer shelves, and 5 screws on rear freezer wall. It took about 2 minutes to remove the heater & braw assembly at the bottom of the coils. 2 screws have to be removed and wires just clip off and back on again. Replaced the 2 screws.
Replace rear coil wall cover and turn on the refrigerator to 5 to 7 and replace cover and shelves.

would not crush ice
you must pay careful attention when taking the dispenser apart, especially the long rod that controls the deflector, but if close attention is payed to disassembly you should have no problem.

cam closing washer broken
I propped up the door with 2x4 and shims to be level with the freezer door. Then removed the 2 screws holding the hinge to the main unit. Then removed the 2 screws holding the cam washer to the door.
Replacement was the reverse of disassembly. Be sure to tighten screws almost tight until both pieces are located correctly then fully tighten. Lift up refrigerator door slightly to remove shims and wood block.
I did the replacement myself but was nervous that the door would fall off the block and shims. I recommend having another person hold the door closed during the process.

Nothing to tell it was a replacement
Nothing to tell it was just a replacement part that the old part was removed and the new one inserted. Works like a dream Thanks
