Rusty Ice
I replaced tie ice Dispenser Plate & thye ice Bucket Auger.I read the previous installation instructions written on this website first.Good info! I copied the Parts diagram on the website, this really helped. I also took my phone camera and took pictures as I was taking the parts apart. The only problem I had was with the Wire Actuator Display Rod,making sure the spring tension was correct and positioned the correct way when I reassembled it. I was able to look at my pictures and assemble it back the correct way. I put the ice bucket assembly back in the refrig and it works great. No more rusty Ice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

flapper was locking open periodically.
Replaced flapper, which was in surprisingly good condition. Major part of repair was removing a lot of mold incurred from long term seepage of room air into the ice channel. In the process of the repair, I discovered that the solenoid to the right of the flapper was hanging up badly. I removed it and cleaned both the plunger and the interior cone of the solenoid with alcohol. This removed quite a bit of rust and some mold. Reinstalled solenoid, replaced flapper and it works just fine. May need to replace solenoid if problem recurs. Certainly worth $37.00!

Frost on inside of freezer.
Since my refrig is 18 yrs. old and I never had to replace it, took a little long to remove trim piece on the outside. After that repair went smoothly. I still have problem with water collecting inside on the bottom of the freezer, might have a leak somewhere. Ice maker is functioning correctly.

The flapper on the freezer was warped and allowed humidity to create frost in the freezer.
I watched the how to video and followed the instructions. The entire repair took less than 4 minutes. Hardest thing was disconnecting the control panel.

rusty auger tainting ice
It was so easy! I seldom attempt any household repair because I have a husband that can fix anything, but he was not available. One screwdriver & remove 4 screws attaching the existing front to old auger/bucket. Line up the screw holes on new bucket with old front, put the 4 screws in through those holes tighten screws & I was done.

auger and bucket neded to be changed because of rust which caused the auger and other metal parts to rust which created an unpleasant odor in ice and freezer. to
The part arrived promptly but was defective. Upon learning of the problem by PartSelect a new part was shipped and was delivered incredibly quickly. Installing it was easy and took only about 5 minutes. We were pleased with the speed in sending the parts and the ease of installation. We will call on them again if necessary because of their good business practices.
