replace sensor in refriger.

Remove the shelves then remove the back by removing the two screws at the top of the panel. Locate the temperature sensor on top of the coil. Cut the wires and replace with the new one. Use wire nuts and electrical tape to reconnect the wires.

Replaced top sensor in ref. and top sensor in freezer as well as defrost thermostat - works as advertised - easy fix, saved a bundle thanks to this site! Parts ordered and shipped quickly and without complications!

Located temperature sensor on condenser in the freezer section( as per instructional video ). Cut off bad sensor with wire cutter then soldered on the new sensor and sealed with electrical shrink wrap.

Removed the interior shelves and set screw which holds the light cover in place. Next I removed the four screws that hold the back panel in place. Located the defrost thermostat and removed it from the aluminum tubing by unclipping it, just as it was illustrated in the repair video. Cut the wires and stripped the ends and then connected them to the ends of the new defrost thermostat. Connected them together with an 16-14 gauge crimp style end cap. Taped the entry point into the end cap to reduce moisture penetration. Reassembled the back panel, light cover and shelves.

I identified the noise was coming from the coils / and the fan. Cleaning the fan helped reduce the noise a bit but it still kept recurring. I ordered the part, which was really easy using the diagram on the website. The instructions and the video were really helpful and was able to remove the old motor and replace it with the new one with relative ease. While there I cleaned the fan blade and vacuumed the surrounding area. This whole repair went quite smoothly and has given me the confidence to take on other repairs before calling out the repairman.

After on two occessions from a refrigeration man who did not fix it I decided to work on it myself. Knowing it was not the overload relay or capacitor I changed the temperature control board but without success, next I took the main control biard, located on the back lower left off for inspection and found that there was a contact terminal on one of the relays melted, after resouldering contact I reinstaled the board and then plug back my refrigerator into the outlet and there it goes like brand new. It was quite easy and quick to do because the board has precisely matching plug-in-terminal wiring harness, for diconnect and reconnect, very smart way. To remove cover for access, take board off, fix and replace, it took me aproxmately fifteen minuites, only using a quarter inch stud driver. Great way. So thrust yourself and save some $Bucks. The replacement went very well. The video was not just as the unit I have but with a little work I worked it out. The service was very good. I received the part in 1 Day. Thanks for the good info. Keep up the good work regarding the videos. This helped. Just for the info. I did a post mortem of the switch. The strain of the wires pulling on the switch caused the failure of the switch. The design of the old temp switch was bad and workmanship was very poor in the original box. Thanks again Ron

changed sensors did not repair problem,replaced damper with mechanical damper fixed problem.

I was intimidated by this repair(as I am with most repairs), because there were 2 possible problems. But being able to purchase both parts for $30 (including shipping) made it worth a try. Thanks to the instructional videos that were sent, the repair was much easier than I anticipated. For me, the hardest part was fitting my shoulders in the narrow freezer. Now the appliance works like a charm. This would have been a $150-$200 repair had I called a company to do it.

Removed the back pannel from inside the freezer. Defrosted the ice build up. Removed the shroud from the back top of the freezer. ( This contains the fan and the light assembly). Removed the fan and replaced the motor. Cut the wire for the temperature sensor and wired in the new one. removed the defrost thermostat and replaced with the new one. Reassembled the unit and reinstalled it into the freezer compartment. replaced the pannel and plugged unit back in.

I can't tell you how luck I feel after finding your website I ordered the temperature sensor after watching one of your videos on-line and the repair went just as on the video. I pulled the "bad" sensor out, and replaced it with the new one. Keep in mind that this is the first time I ever touch an appliance, needless to say I'm feeling pretty good about that! All in all it took me about 20 minutes to complete my repair and it now has been about 4 days and the refrigerator is working like new again!

We used partselect troubleshooting appilication to figure out what was most likely causing the problem and what part would fix it. The suggested part was the freezer's defrost thermostat and the probability that this would fix it was 52%! The diagnosis made sense because when we emptied the freezer to see the part, the coils were frozen solid with a thick layer of ice. We thawed the ice and the refrigerator worked fine for a day and a half at which point the ice was back and the refrigerator was warm again. We ordered the part. It came in 2 days. We snipped two wires and removed the old part, twisted the wires of the new one in place, taped it up and it worked!
