ZICP720BXASS General Electric Refrigerator - Instructions

Unplugged the freezer. Then I gained access to the fan: remove the top freezer rack, remove the ice tray, remove the air flow manifold(needed to unscrew some screws), remove the manifold over the fan and cooling element. I unscrewed the fan mounting bracket. The fan motor's wires are plumbed through some plastic that i would have had to remove, so I decided instead to cut the wires and splice in the new fan motor. Then I put everything back together - the new motor works fine and doesn't make the whining noise.

Easy

1st - checked water supply - old valve in water line was closed with sediment.
2nd - replaced water line valve and reconnected copper tubing about 1 hour
3rd. removed single outlet valve and installed the new part - about 15 minutes

Everything went well and was very easy.
Unfortunately, the ice maker still does not work.
Still trying to understand what is wrong.

First i removed two screws that holds the ice maker in, unplug the plug to the ice maker. I was able to remove the old one. Place the new one in screwed in the two screws and pluged in the plug and in just a little while i had ice again. I am a women, if i can do it any one can. I had a repair man tell me it was going to be $250.00 dollars to replace it. I got on line ordered the ice maker and had it in 4 days. Very fast shipping and easy to install. Unplug electrical power to refrigerator. Disconnected electrical power to water valve, Disconnected water inlet and out let lines from valve. Remove screw holding valve on refrigerator, removed and replaced water valve with screw. Connected inlet and outlet water lines, turned on water and checked for leaks. Connected electrical power to water valve, plug in electrical power to the refrogerator. Ice maker tray fill, made ice.

Video is a great but still need to read the instuctions because there are parts you may need on the old ice maker. Saved myself a bit of money by not having to call a repairman. The process was very simple. I am glad I did it myself. Thank you Parts Select!

Started with a visual inspection.
Turned off water.
Removed old valve.
Bent bracket to facilitate installation.
Installed.
Hooked up.
Tested.
Works as advertised.....

Totally followed the instructions of the video that came with the sensor. Unplugged the the fridge, defrosted the freezer. Cut off the main sensor that usually is the one that goes out. Installed the the new sensor with new wire terminals, crimped them and covered with electrical tape. Fridge works like a charm. Partsselect is excellent. Saved me a few hundred dollars versus having a GE Tech come and do it.

I replaced both the punp and water line. the website depicting the repair parts was the best i ever worked with. The parts were high quality delivered on time and easy to install. Total job cost $30 as opposed the cost of of a service man or a new refrig.

My Son removed two screws, electric plug and two (2) compresion nuts. He had to bend the bracket to fit, then replace it, in reverse order except the filler tube on the new valve was of a "stabb-in" type. Job was a piece of cake and this small project, solved all our problems with the Ice maker.

If a 74 year old guy can install an ice-maker in a 20 + year old fridge in 20, or so, minutes it must have had good pictures and BIG PRINT. Working quite well at this time!

Removed Ice Maker (2-Bolts)
Removed Ice Tray Screw Motor (to get to Ice Maker Plug- 4 small screws)
Installed new Ice Maker and reinstalled Ice Maker Screw Motor
Extreamly easy

Shut the water off, removed two screws,removed the inlet, from the water valve then the line from the valve to the ice maker. Then you reverce these steps and you are done. The shipping time was the best I have ever seen. Thanks

Ice hopper had no ice in it. But water in door worked and if I added ice to hopper, it would dispense in door. I added water to ice maker but no ice was made. Replaced ice maker and all it required was to unplug harness and remove two screws with nut driver. Easy!

I removed the screws that held the unit in place, and also the screws that held a plate that covered where the unit plugs in. I unplugged the unit, and removed it. Put the new one in, reversing the steps. Turned the new unit on, and had ice in 45 minutes! Summer is coming, I need my ice maker! This is the second unit I have replaced on this refrigerator, the first one was not releasing the cubes. This second one was a different style than the first, but same install process.
