refrigerator and freezer stopped working
I replaced the three sensors, 2 in the freezer 1 in the refrigerator. This was rated as the most common problem. Did not fix the problem. I then checked the ohms on the new sensors then the old sensors they were all within .5 of each other. So I got smart and went down the list of causes on their list. I emailed partselect and asked what the parts should read. They replied with that information and it turned out to be the voltage converter on the compressor. I ordered the part on friday payed for overnight delivery and it arrived tuesday. This as you can imagine makes me angry. But the part was easy to install and my refrigerator started working right away. I would advise anyone with this problem to start at the top of the problem list use a multi meter check everything on the list and only replace part or parts that don't come up to standards. This will save time and money and hopefully fix the problem the first time as you are not switching out parts and hoping that it solves the problem.

Ice maker Stripper lost a tooth
First turn off the power, remove the ice tray, remove the two screws holding the ice maker to the side of the freezer, use the screw driver to gently open the electrical clip for the power cord inside the freezer, remove the complete unit from freezer, bend the old stripper from the holding pin- it is flexible- it will bend, replace the new stripper on the holding pin and bend into the slot to hold it firmly, no water will come out from the fill cup into the freezer, plug in the power cord, mount back to side of freezer, you are done.

ICE MAKER NOT PRODUCING ICE
The original Ice maker water inlet valve proved to be good, I discovered that the water tube that delivers water to the ice maker was packed with ice. I remover the tube and ran hot water on it until it was ice free. Please check that tube before purcashing and installing any parts.

Twice I ordered the oven light bulb & each time the light bulb was defected
I had to call for a appointment for repair with GE Appliance because I thought then it . .was something electrical. The technician came out & checked everything out, turned out it was not electrical, The technician went out to his truck got a light bulb from his truck, put it in & it worked. It cost me $121.00 for trip charge from GE appliance for a light bulb that worked, your light bulbs were defective twice. Very disappointed with your products, cost me alot of money for a good light bulb thru GE appliance

My compressor stopped working and the fridge went warm.
First I was told the compressor was bad. A quick YouTube lookup diagnosed it as 1 of 3 thing. Starter relay, motherboard, or compressor. First two are cheap, compressors are not. A rattle in the relay will tell you if it’s bad. Since there wasn’t I looked to the motherboard. A burnspot indicated it was the board that was bad. Partsselect had the cheapest board at the same quality. Fast delivery and I simply plugged in the ports to install. There was a small cover with some bolts to take off but nothing intricate. Plug and play and I was up and running. Great experience with the website and no previous experience with repairs of this type.

Crisper Cover Frame was badly cracked at two corners. Both crispers had broken spots on their runner flanges.
We first watched https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NgjfzdHrsak, the PartSelect repair video for this. It was helpful.
We were almost scared off by the first review on the PartSelect site, as it said the glass would not fit into the Crisper Cover Frame. Only later did we see that there was a second review lower on the page, which identified the error the first poster was making: There are two flat tabs, about 2 1/2 inches long and 1/2 inch wide, one above each crisper opening on the underside of the frame. The glass is intended to fit snugly into these retainers, and does not slip in unless you use a flat blade screw driver first, to lever them a little wider open. Then it can slip in. The glass does fit, albeit snugly.
The erroneous review says it is 1 of 1, so initially we didn't look lower. I suggest it be moved down the page, and labeled 1 of 2.
My husband helped, and I, the wife, did the actual repair. So this is something that depends on a little dexterity, and a little patience. That is all.

A part that goes between the two upper doors had broken off
I was so pleased I got the correct part on the first try!
I know manufacturers use plastic because it's cheap and lightweight, but these parts break SO EASILY and it's ridiculous. At any rate, I used a Phillips head screwdriver to take off the old part- top and bottom. Then I needed another set of hands (or use the painter's tape) to hold it in place while I screwed in the new part, top and bottom. (2 screws each). Other than needing someone to help hold it in place while I did the first 2 screws, it was simple and one person can do it --You use the masking tape to hold it for the first two top screws if you have no help. Thank you
