the auger was rusty, causing ice to have brown spots
Pay close attention to how you disassemble everything. You might even want to take a picture. I taped all the screws right where I unscrewed them, to make sure they were replaced in the right section. Also use the picture diagram that on the computer.

The auger was rusted with age and made the ice taste bad.
The disassembly and reassembly was straightforward but the parts diagram was very helpful to help you get it back together. Make sure you get the convexity of the clip that retains the clear plastic barrel to the auger pointing in the right direction. The metal plate that that comes out with the assembly seems to rust as fast as the auger, so you should just order that when you order the auger. I did not replace the plate so I cleaned it and painted it with epoxy paint before I reassembled.

Replaced ice bucket assembly
I removed the old ice bucket assembly and used a screwdriver to remove the front panel (4 screws ) and installed it on the new ice bucket assembly, this took only a couple minutes and I inserted the part back into the freezer and that was it. By the way, I'm a 70 year old female.

Would not dispense Ice.
Bought a new Ice Bucket and Auger assembly and replaced the existing unit. Had to remove 4 Phillips head screws, remove and replace front panel and put bucket back in the fridge. (The bucket just drops in place in the freezer) and works perfect!!

Auger in Ice Maker rusted; thus discolored the ice
Ordering the complete Auger Assembly made it real easy. I only had to unscrew the ice maker door and re-attach it to the new Assembly. It took me longer to write this than to reassemble and re-install.

Ice maker- wouldn't release cubes only crushed ice.
Really easy- turned off ice maker, powered down appliance briefly. Removed ice maker by removing 3 screws with 1/4 nut driver. Unplugged ice maker from power supply. Removed and replaced solenoid arm assembly. Reversed steps and whammy - ice cubes dropped.
