Simply removed all items on lower shelf then removed the old dried up lime that was used to prop the broken pan before. By the way it was placed there about 3 years ago.Anyhow tossed the lime cleaned the area and easily installed the new pan cover , Thank you Part Select .com i definetly will use u all again. Until the next broken part .

Removed all of the stuff on the shelf, then I removed the two vegetable drawers, then I removed the cracked shelf and installed the new.

I found a replacement evaporator fan motor and 2 mounting bracket grommets at PartSelect.com at a reasonable price. I watched the installation video provided and installed the new parts as shown in the video start to finish installation time 22 minutes.i

Just as your video described, although due to the age of the fridge, it took a bit longer to remove the defective switch. Your video made this so simple, I can't imagine why we lived with a dark fridge for so long! I was ready to buy a whole new fridge, as repairmen are often nonexistent for small repairs. I am the biggest fan of your company & it's repair video. THANK YOU SO MUCH

My wife and I followed the installation video & put the gasket in hot water. We struggled to get it started in the second corner on top. Gasket had cooled down so wasn't wanting to go in the slot. I finally got the bright idea to use a hair dryer to warm the gasket as we pushed it along.
That helped us finish the installation.
Not sure the new gasket is the complete answer to the leakage at the top of the door (forming ice crystals). The MAGNETS ARE WEAK compared to my 1 year old GE top freezer refrigerator!
My newer refrigerator "snaps" shut.

Turned the wire protector to the side. Turned out the old bulb and replaced it with the new. Turned the wire protector back in place and I'm like new.

pretty easy fix, took out the remaining pieces of cracked cover and handle and replaced the cover and handle (shelf).

We thought we would have to replace our frig, but found the part online and it fit perfectly. It's slightly different than the original because it is stronger. All we did was remove the items from the tray, unsnap the broken one and slide the new one into place.

i found that the door was to low was the problem shimmed the hinge on the bottom brought the door up so the gasket was ok so isent the new gasket back to you never attempted to change so i dont have any thing to tell you about instalation difficulty carl phillips

Using plyers Pulled old switch down and out. Put new one in and pushed new switch up into position. The switch plugs into the contacts, no wiring needed. Worked like a charm. You saved me 200 dollars GE repair bill. Thanks

after simply replacing shelf, I used the enclosed plactic washers to raise the height of door, so it would clear new shelf. It all worked as planned, thanks

We removed the old Drawer Cover and replaced it with the new one. The Refrigerator Door had trouble closing. So we inserted the 2 plastic washers as described in the directions enclosed in the packaging. It was pretty straight forward and an easy fix. Thank you Hot Point and Part Select. Turn off refrigerator. Remove the plastic air flow cover, styrofoam channel and metal panel inside freezer compartment, remove hex nuts holding motor mount, unplug connector, remove old grommets, remove compression ring, (note 1/4 inch extension of shaft through fan) carefully pull fan blade off motor shaft and put on new motor shaft, leaving 1/4 inch of shaft extending through, replace compression ring. If your new fan motor has a female snap connector and the old motor has a male connector (as mine did) you will have to cut the wires on both new and old motors, splice and solder the male connector onto the wires of new motor, wrap carefully with premium electrical tape (or shrink tubing). Replace the 2 grommets, Reconnect the fan and bolt back into place. Make sure all the bolts around the mount are tight. Replace the metal panel. Manually spin the fan making sure it is free of the shroud. If it binds in the shroud, physically move the motor and mount till it rotates freely. Turn on refrigerator and test fan operation. If it's all good, replace the styrofoam and plastic cover.

I had already ordered a replacement evaporator motor from another vendor. I ordered the evaporator fan blade, compression ring and rubber grommets from PartSelect. Apparently this is a pretty common issue with top-freezer refrigerators. Obtaining these parts and possessing the few tools needed saved me at least $100 over having someone else perform the repair. I will further use PartSelect when ordering parts for my other appliances. Thank you.
