Ice chute from the ice maker frosted over. Cubes would not dispense
1. Unplug the fridge
2. Removed the outer facing of the dispenser outside the freezer door. This is fairly easy, better with a tool (plastic scraper) that won't mar the finish.
3. Removed the plastic plate with labels -- water, ice, etc. This is done by sliding a small jewelers screwdriver into the slots on the left, middle and right in back of the plate. These are difficult to see without a flashlight.
4. Removed the four screws in the panel behind this plate.
5. Unpluged the large cable on the left side after the panel is freed.
5. Removed the rubber "dispenser" button. this just pulls off.
6. Remove the panel
7. Lift flapper up and remove. Clips hold this in.
8. Put new flapper in place.
9. Use reverse order to put back together.
Piece of cake. Ice maker no longer frosts up.!!!!

Hole in bottom of ice bucket
Transferred ice supply to another freezer. Removed ice maker unit from freezer and studied assembly. Removed the 5 screws holding the bucket in place while keeping track of which screw went where. The only positional component to remember was the motor control pivot retainer. Wiggled and fiddled to remove the old bucket. Wiggled and fiddled to put the new bucket in place. Replaced the 5 screws, dumped the reserved ice back into the bucket, and returned the ice maker unit to the freezer.

Broken shelf frame.
Placed the glass shelf in the new shelf frame and the frame in the refrigerator.
I was unable to positively identify the replacement shelf frame on the GE web site. Part Select's exploded view made it a piece of cake!

The door recess asm would not seal tightly
remove the 'pop-out " frame around the door recess, you pry the flexable seal from around the ice despenser, have someone hold the unit with the wiring, remove the one screw that holds the door recess, and replace the new one. reverse the procedure. remember to unplug thr frig. first

My despenser water reservoir leaked at the seam, causing water to alway puddle at the bottom of the inside space
I had read from your sight, to simply cut the lines at the reservoir and tape the new lines to the old. Then use the old lines to pull/feed the new lines to the coupler/valve. This worked great and greatly decreased the time it took to install. I spent more time moving out the frig and cleaning up all the dust (probably should do that more often)

Auger was rusty
Easy to take apart just keep track of all your screws and parts most inportant of all are the 3 claw like and spacers that are inside the clear round part at the end of the ice bucket these pieces only turn in one direction if you put them on backwards or in the wrong order you will tear up your ice bucket so pay close attention when taking it apart and reassembling it. One think that might be helpful is to take some pictures of the ice bucket before disassembly something i wish i had done prior to taking it apart. Some people download instructions off the internet but i felt like i could do it with out help well good luck
