HInge Cam Riser next to lower door hinge broke and door would not close
The refrigerator door would now close and notice broken plastic on the floor. It is a 1990 or so GE fridge. To repair - ordered the Cam Riser (the plastic piece that broke and the matching lower door bracket.
Took off the lower hinge with a socket wrench. removed the door. Replace the old Cam Riser with the new one. Slid the door onto the upper guide then fastened the new hinge with the socket wrench.
Easy job .. around 20 minutes.

Door wouldn't open/shut properly.
I could see a broken part but couldn't tell exactly how it was oriented on the hinge. I bought just the cam riser but then thought I needed the hinge kit based on what I read on this site. Then I saw better pictures of the hinge kit on another site & realized there are 2 cam risers that meet. The one riveted to the hinge was fine (in my case) - I only needed the upper one...a very inexpensive repair. Do NOT remove the door for this repair. Slide the door up a bit while closed and use a pint-sized paint can to prop it up. Make the repair and remove the can...done.

Door was not closing properly due to broken closure on hinge
After watching your instruction video and not wanting to shut down refrigerator and remove foods from door, I elected to lift the door and place blocking under it.The actual hinge replacement took approximately 10 mins. I would also like to say that I am extremely satisfied with PartSelects handling of my order and your promptness resending my order because of my goof-up with my own address. I am grateful and will recommend you to anyone who needs parts for any appliance. Thanks again. Chuck Gjovig

Door closing cams, top and bottom, became damaged and needed replacement
Turned refrigerator off. Removed food from right hand (refig.) door. Closed door. Removed upper hinge cover with a standard Phillips screwdriver and then removed upper hinge by removing two 5/16" bolts using nutdriver. Lifted door up to clear the bottom hinge-post and set it on the table. Removed the kick pan at the bottom of the refrigerator and then removed the bottom hinge-post which was attached with two more 5/16" bolts. Installed new lower hinge post and rubbed a small amount of mineral oil on the closing cam (which is riveted to the hinge-post). Removed the old upper closing cam from the door (5/16" bolts) while it as lying horizontal on the table and installed new cam lubricated with a small amount of mineral oil. dropped the door in place, replaced upper hinge and cover. Replaced kick pan. Done.

Lower Fridge door hinge was broken
Being as the part is plastic it has a limited life span. But the repair is very easy and anyone can do it. I just proped the door with 2x6's and 1x2's and bolted it in. If you get confused just look at the freezer side to see how it goes, they are the same. It's four bolts and some shims that need to go in the same locations. I'm real happy that there is an online location to get these parts as there is not anywhere to get them where I live.

Door closing cams on door hinges cracked and sheered off. Door sit low on hinges.
Just watch the Parts Select YouTube videos on replacing the door hinges. That helped a lot.
All I needed was a phillips head screw driver and a 5/16ths socket wrench. Easy after watching the video a few times.
