Ice buildup. The Ice Machine was frosting over. Ice (due to frosting) would block the drop chute.
Unfortunately, the replacement part didn't come with instructions. The repair, nevertheless, was fairly straightforward. After removing the plastic parts that guide the ice through the door (by removing a few screws that attach the parts to the inside of the door), I was able to slip my hand into the ice maker dispenser and remove the old part. The part clips on. It is a tight fit through the funnel (from the outside of the freezer), however, and requires that the gasket first be "flipped" open wherein it unfolds 180 degrees. Doing this will make it easier to clip the new gasket onto the assembly.

Broken Vegetable Crisper Pan
This was a simple repair. I removed the broken bin from the refrigerator and snapped the white plastic handle / humidity control slide off the broken bin and snapped it onto the new bin. I replaced the bin in the refrigerator and loaded it up with veggies. Took all of 5 minutes to make the repair.

Ice maker door not opening
Removed panel from front of freezer door by pushing up on three spring loaded screws located in the opening where the ice door opens and closes. they are about 1 inch apart on the bottom of the opening. Push up to free ice maker panel. Remove three screws from solenoid, located at the top right. Remove wire, replace with new and that is it. Fixed the problem!! Our ice maker hadn't worked for months. Be careful if you remove the round ice maker door to clean. There is a spring that located on the left side of sprocket. The spring fell off and took me a while to figure where it came from. Recieved package in three days and the job took minutes. Works great! Very easy to complete.

Water reservoir leaked
Undid the three screws (one just held the light, which had to be detached but not removed from the refer), cut the lines several inches up, and removed the old reservoir. No quick connects came w/the part, and 5/16" items are not available in most stores, including Home Depot, Lowes, Ace, True Value, etc, so had to order separately on line (search 5/16" quick connect) (another $12 with S&H). Don't use a pinching type tool to cut the lines - not a smooth cut. I used a miniature pipe cutter I happened to have because I am a hobbyist. Cut the lines on the new reservoir at same place as old one, pushed the quick connects on, pushed the QCs on the lines sticking out of the refer, replaced screws, and was done. Quick connects should be included with this part.

The butter door broke, fell off and wouldn't go back on.
They don't make appliances like they used to. When my little butter door cracked, we kept using it until it finally fell off for good. So, where do you buy one of these? When I turned to the internet, I found a few places but they were toooo expensive. PartSelect had the right part at the right price. I figured that if I bought another little damaged part, the light cover, at the same time, the shipping cost was essentially halved, an even better deal. I was so surprised when my parts arrived faster than I expected, a couple of days by regular mail. That's faster than I could ever get a service call and who's going to call a repairman for a simple thing like that, anyway. If not for PartSelect my reputation as the Queen of Duct Tape would still be intact. I didn't want duct tape holding together my newish SS fridge in my redone kitchen. Imagine tile, granite, stainless and duct tapeI placed the little door in the fridge and now the butter stays put. the lower light shield is just as easy.

Unit was not dispensing water nor ice.
Removed the plastic frame by pushing to the inside (all 4 sides), removed touch pad by sliding it to my right and disconnected the wires. Removed the four screws that hold the dispensing unit and replaced broken parts. Please note that I also replaced the funnel. Total cost of repair for DIY $30.00, savings by avoiding repair man, priceless.

After market GE water filter spud fitting broke off
It originally appeared that an easy out would be required to remove ferule from piping line, but later it became necessary to cut old broken fitting off and replace with compression fitting in replacement kit. Total time to repair after all tools were on hand (needed to buy tubing cuter) was about 45 minutes.

Refrigerator was noisy when running. The noise increased with time and got so loud it hurt your ears with a high pitch sound.
Empy all the food from the freezer and remove the ice container and the lower ice maker section with a 1/4 inch nut driver, unplug the unit and set aside. Remove all shelving and set aside. Remove light cover and unscrew the bulb and remove. Remove cover/with light fixture by removing the necessary screws with the nut driver. The cover has the fan assembly attached; unplug and remove fan assembly, remove the thermistor from coil attached with a clip. Reassemble in the reverse procedure.

Noisey evap motor
I tried to quite the noisey evap motor with special liquid motor grease from Radio Shack. It did not work, so I ordered the evap motor. My freezer motor was wired slightly different than the motor I received. The replacement motor had a male plug attached to the four wires, the original motor was different, so I cut the wires and spliced them into the original freezer wires (colors were the same). Remounted motor. Works great, and no more groaning motor
