Water leaking and freezing everywhere. Weird shaped ice cubes, more like chunks which jambed the dispenser.
First removed the two screws that holds the old ice maker in place. Unplugged it. The freezer compartment was too narrow to allow the unit to slide out or turn in any other direction. Had to also remove the two front screws from the left side ice bin track and swing it down. The door opening was also too tight. Scratched the plastic door jamb putting the new unit in but other than that all is well and functioning well.

Ice Maker stopped making ice.
Did the repair just as the instruction said, once I read it. The part I didn't read was that if the plug was under the ice maker, you had to take the wire out of the clip on the side. So, had to dismount ice maker, unclip wire, remount maker, plug it in. Still under 30 minutes. Thank you.

Loud noise coming from freezer. Evaporater fan was still spinning but making loud noise
Removed fan housing from top of freezer, then the two screws holding the rest of it in place. Then two more screw and removed the vertical housing in back of freezer. two more screws and I was able to remove the whole back plate. I unplugged evap motor wire from back of freezer wall and unscrewed motor bracket. once motor was free, I removed the blade, unscrewed ground wire and installed new motor. I then plugged wire back in to ensure new motor worked and put everything back. Super Easy!!

Fan motor was making an intermittent (very annoying) squealing noise.
Located the model number on the inside wall of the unit. Wanted to make sure to order the correct product.Because of the age of the refrigerator I ordered the rubber mounting grommets. In this model the mounting frame is built at an angle that makes the removal and reinstall very easy. Remove two screws and the motor is loose. The fan blade easily pulls off the shaft of the motor . Clean up the fan and reassemble.

Fan making an intermittent loud noise
Well the repair would have consisted of simply removing the old fan, and installing the new one, however, the replacement fan sent had a female connector on it, when it should have been a male connector. So, I had to take the connector off the old fan, and splice it onto the new one. This turned a really simple job into more of a project, which I was not planning on.

Ice Maker not making ice and Water Dispenser not dispensing water
I shut off the water main, unplugged the fridge and unscrewed the cardboard plate in the back of the fridge. I then removed the old valve from the refrigerator with a socket wrench, removed the hoses and solenoids and then connected all of them to the new valve. I then screwed the new valve back into place and replaced the cardboard plate. The difficult part was getting access to the back of the fridge and valve, it was pretty straightforward aside from that. Unfortunately the fix did not work and no ice or water is being provided from the fridge. There is no circuit board to replace on this model so I am at a loss as to what it could be. The fridge makes noises on occasion which sounds like the ice maker calling for water, but no water gets to the fill valve. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Defroster fan burned up
First I removed the ice tray rack lifting it out of the way to reach the back cover of the fan. Then, the whole back inside panel had to be removed. Two screws removed the fan and bracket from the freezer unit. The missing bumper lid just snapped into place. Replaced everything in reverse order. Pretty easy job.

Light would no longer turn on
I watched the video online, followed the instructions and within minutes had the part installed. The frig light was working once again! I will say the original switch was very snug and I had to do some very minor scraping of the plastic to get the new part to slide in.

Light out
Turned off the breaker to the fridge because I couldn't reach the power plug to unplug it . Use small flat head screwdriver to pop out the piece, disconnected the rubber prong connectors, inserted the new piece into the rubber prongs snapped it back into place. Flipped the breaker back on and prayed it worked. It did and I saved myself $120 service call.
