remove back panel inside fridge freezer side, everything frosted, unplug and used a hair dryer

1. Took out defrost heater and the bottom and tested (per this site) tested OK.

2. Then looked at the defrost thermostat, it was swollen with the top coming off. so i new it was bad
3.clipped and stripped the 2 wires, spliced in the new one with wire nuts and sealed them with silicone. All better

1 opened door 2. pryed cover off from cieling 3.cut and stripped wires on 4. sodered wires from old wires to new sensor. 5 insulated conection.6 put cover back on. This did not fix the problem it was the control moduel.

Nothing to tell it was just a replacement part that the old part was removed and the new one inserted. Works like a dream Thanks

Of course being a women to say I repair my refrigirator is very self gratifying specially when share with other womens like me divorce,having to do on their own, great site, very simple explain on the video with words I could understand, no surprices right to the penny. took the back off and defrosted with a hairdryer. disconected the part pulled the part out cut the wires. put the other part on and instaled it. put it back together and it seems to be working just fine. thank you

It was much easier than I had anticipated it was going 2B. All it intaled was 2 undue the 2 water lines w/a 1/2 inch wrench, take out the 2 screws on the top of the head on the inside of the refrigerator, then pull it out. I then just slipped the new head in, replaced the 2 screws, replaced the filter (definitely not overly tightening it this time) by putting some waterproof food grade grease, making it much easier 2 push up & turn. After, I went 2 the back of the refrigerator & reconnected the 1 line 2 the fridge & then the other 2 the water supply. "Walla" we were making ice again & able 2 get ice cold water again, also. The entire process took approximately 30 minutes 2 complete & that's bcuz of my limited disabilities. A younger person could probably be able 2 do it possibly faster.

Very easy repair, 3 screws to remove motor assembly and 3 screws/1 nut to remove motor from housing. Reverse order to replace. VERY EASY repair!

Removed broken switch with plastic scraper (press tension latch on bottom), moved two wire terminals to the new switch and pressed the new switch into the hole.

Very easy novice could do

follow the easy instructions replace 3 temperature sensors cut the wires and crimp them with new sensor and it works like new

Turns out it was only the frozen water that thawed when I unplugged the fridge for 24 hours.
New part returned, not used.
Service was excellent.

I got the model # off the fridge, ordered the part online. The part was fairly cheap and was at my house 2 days after I ordered it. It was the exact part and I installed it in about 15 minutes and everyting worked out fine and easy and cheap, under $15 total to fix the issue. All I needed to do was use a flathead screwdriver to "pop" out the old switch, remove the 2 wires off the wire connection points, put the wires on the new switch and push it back into place. easy.
