Water leaking from water valve
Unplugged fridge, and turned off water supply. Removed cover from back of fridge, followed the plastic tube down to water valve.
I unbolted the mount holding water valve in place, removed the input tubing on top by unscrewing nut. I made a note of which outbound plastic tubing went to water dispenser, and which one went to icemaker, and which side of the water valve they plugged into, and then cut the tubing very close to the old valve.
I slid the tubing into the new water valve, and I felt it lock into place, very easy. Attached the input water line and tightened the nut.
Reattached the water valve mount to the body of the fridge, replaced cover, turned water valve back on and checked for leaks (there were none).
Plugged in fridge, tested dispenser, everything worked just fine. No leaks.

Water leaking from Water Solenoid
I went on Google to get GE Tech Manual. But really, undid screws for back plate; Dismounted (1 screw) Water Solenoid assembly; disconnected 3 water hoses into solenoid; unplug two power connectors. Then reversed the process with new Water Solenoid...works great!

The water valve developed a leak.
Removed back lower panel, removed valve, ordered part on internet, cleaned motor and back of fridge. Most time spent was waiting for delivery of ordered part. Part received and installed in 15 minutes after reviewing instructional video included in my email verifying my order, fridge pushed back into place, waited for ice maker to refill.....DONE. So easy. water flowed unchecked into ice maker
Easy repair. Diagnosis was tricky - this website and popular mechanics article helped me to narrow down the problem to the solenoid water valve.
Unscrewed the left side of the back panel and unscrewed old water valve from its bracket. The steel inlet hose was easy to disconnect, as were the two electrical socket connectors. The two outlet water hoses to the refrigerator were a little trickier. You need to cut them with a blade, and insert them into the new valve, which has teeth to hold them in place. Once I figured that out, the rest was easy. I remounted the bracket, and then tested the water flow successfully. Great website, thanks for the help!

Water would not dispense
I turned the water off at wall. Then I removed 6 nuts removing the back cover. Removed one nut to remove the outlet water valve. Disconnected two bottom hoses and put them on the new unit. Removed top hose and installed on new unit.
When I removed the top hose water did spill out.
I had to rush to connect it to the new unit .

Water constantly leaking from dispenser.
Instructions are excellent - no modifications. The problem was with determining what was causing the leak. GE, in telephone conversations, kept telling us to run several gallons of water through the system to remedy the problem, and suggesting we change the water filter (MWF). We discovered the remedy by looking through your listing of replacement water parts, till we found the commentary dealing with our problem. This is the second problem with the refrigerator solved by searching your catalogue and reviewing your demos. I'm afraid you have a customer for life (at least for the life of our GE appliances).

Water intake to ice maker kept freezing due to slow leak in valve.
The process would have been fairly intuitive, and the part is designed in such a way that it is impossible to hook anything up to the wrong connecting point. PartSelect's on-line video of the repair was clear and easy to follow -- the perfect primer to review before I started the job. The first part I received was defective, and although it functioned it leaked water onto the floor. This gave me the opportunity to engage PartSelect's unparalleled customer service department for friendly and incredibly prompt correction. I look forward to my next appliance failure just for the pleasure of doing business with this exceptional firm.
