GTS18GTHNRWW General Electric Refrigerator - Instructions

Unplug power, remove back cover (4screws), unplugged fan connector, tied string to connector, removed screw that connected shroud to coil, tilted coil off of lower mount, worked shroud assy out while feeding power wires & string through coil.
Tied string to new shroud assy power connector & reversed disassembly.

I located the light switch at the bottom of the area where the door closes. I just popped it out with a small screwdriver and installed the new switch. A 2 wire connecter and small clip is all there is to it.

I pulled the bulb out to see if it was the bulb, no! I took the switch out, of course with the refer unplugged, and jummped out the wires and the light came on. Ordered my switch and put it in in 10 seconds and then there was light! Thanks again for showing me the light!

Really simple... broken light switch easily removed with flat edge screw driver. Once removed unplug and plug new one in and good to go.

I got the model # off the fridge, ordered the part online. The part was fairly cheap and was at my house 2 days after I ordered it. It was the exact part and I installed it in about 15 minutes and everyting worked out fine and easy and cheap, under $15 total to fix the issue. All I needed to do was use a flathead screwdriver to "pop" out the old switch, remove the 2 wires off the wire connection points, put the wires on the new switch and push it back into place. easy. Great place to get exact parts and fast shipping.

It was easy to take the old shield reflector out and put the new one in, no tools needed. However it did not solve the problem. The refrigerator light is hanging down, in the way of getting items in and out of the refrigerator. Looking through the parts list for this model directed me to the shield reflector. Among the questions was one from another customer asking how to fix a hanging light and was told the shield reflector would solve the problem. So I bought the part. Waste of time and money. The light still hangs.

Removed shelf, flipped upside down, removed broken rail, screwed in replacement part. Very easy. Part arrived very quickly. Am happy!!

Took off old handle - two screws
Intsalled new handle - two screws.
Part was perfect - repair was seemless.

Did the repair just as the instruction said, once I read it. The part I didn't read was that if the plug was under the ice maker, you had to take the wire out of the clip on the side. So, had to dismount ice maker, unclip wire, remount maker, plug it in. Still under 30 minutes. Thank you.

Installing the part repaired the fridge and freezer immediately.

First removed the two screws that holds the old ice maker in place. Unplugged it. The freezer compartment was too narrow to allow the unit to slide out or turn in any other direction. Had to also remove the two front screws from the left side ice bin track and swing it down. The door opening was also too tight. Scratched the plastic door jamb putting the new unit in but other than that all is well and functioning well.

Open the freezer panel which attached with screwws and locate the defrost thermmostate behind the back pannel. Cut off the old thermostat wires and connect the new wires.
