PHG25PGTAFWW General Electric Refrigerator - Instructions

Removed front panel (using small screw driver) by popping it out, disconnected wire from solenoid, removed solenoid which was rusted, 3 small philip head screws held it in place insereted new solenoid,connected wire snapped front panel back in. Clapper valve closes tightly and no frost in frezzer, saved my self a bunch of money.

I bought a Flapper replacement part from Parts Select. I installed it following their very complete on-line video directions. Their complete and easy to follow directions made my job very easy, and the work was completed without any problems and just as good as if it were done by a professional repair person. I am proud of my work, it couldn't have been done without their video insructions. Also I got delivery of the part within two days of my order. I removed the 4 screws from the cradel then I wedged the tabs open on the unit and removed the main operating mechanism .Ithen removed the broken parts and reassembled the mechanism I put the unit back together in
reverse order. It works just fine.

All I had to do was slide it in. But that's not what made me so thrilled with your site. What won my devotion was your site's ease of use (I couldn't find what I was looking for on GE's site) and the promptness of delivery. I will certainly use you again and recommend your services to my friends!

unscrewed lamp and replaced it with new one!

tab on right top, flat insert on left. Pull up, toward you and to the right. It pops off. No tools needed.

Emptyed shelf of food. Aligned new plastic front piece. Pressed front. Went right into place.

I followed the partselect videos for the temp sensor and defrost thermostat and the refrigerator has been working well for a about a week now. The refrigerator is old enough that I was just going to replace it. When I called the repair company I use, they said it would cost $200 to $300 for the repair, but I didn't want to put that money into an old refrigerator. I did a little research, found this site and figured it would be worth buying about $20 in parts and giving it a try. I have absolutely no experience working on refrigerators, but the videos were so easy to follow, everything went smoothly. The old thermostat was definitely broken when I checked it with a meter, so I'm pretty confident that the problem is fixed.

Handle just snaps on.

Just removed the entire ice bin, like I was getting ice cubes. Replaced it with the new one (after washing it thoroughly).

It was an easy assemble. The Auger Assembly was just replaced.

The three bulbs would then remain on, so I loosened them to keep them off. I didn't know that the cooling system also would stop when the door was open, so for two days only the side freezer was operational. When I discovered that, I hot glued the switch button off, while I searched for a replacement part. The replacement part was an exact duplicate. A simple prying out of the old switch - using a screwdriver, and the reconnection of the two wires connectors to the new part, and clicking back in place ... done. Seriously, it took two minutes.
