TBX22JRBRWH General Electric Refrigerator - Instructions

Pulled out old drain gromet. Have to be careful not to put drain in motor. Experienced repair person could probably to in 5 minutes; it took my husband about 15 minutes. Did not really need entire drain line; just connection at top.

Using plyers Pulled old switch down and out. Put new one in and pushed new switch up into position. The switch plugs into the contacts, no wiring needed. Worked like a charm. You saved me 200 dollars GE repair bill. Thanks

Excellent instructions from your video. Replaced gasket once without removing door quite harder to do. Placed gasket in sun to warm it up, didn't have to heat it in hot water. Much easier once doors are removed and replaced gasket on large table or bench. Thanks for the video and your prompt delivery of part.

Followed the PartsSelect how-to video to the letter., using clothes dryer option to soften the gasket before installation. Installing the new gasket a little tedious, but not difficult. Video was dead on as to method and tools.

I started at the compressor and replaced the overload and the Ptcr first and that did not make the compressor start running again, so I replaced the capasitor and it still did not start, so I bit the bulett and replaced the Main Control Board and that is what I should have checked first, when I removed the old one I found a little burnt spot on the back that I could not see from the front. The new one did not look exactly like the old one, it had two more wire terminals than the old one, but just leave them blank and everything will work just fine!

Sears told me the part was no longer available. I came to your web site and then called your customer service. A very nice customer service lady helped me find the part. Very simple to pull the old one off and reinstall the new one with a rat trap behind the unit. Just in case it came back. Could have been a client but probably was a rat. I watched some videos online trying to find one that pertained to my door gasket and found a couple. After that it was a snap. The old gasket came off easy and the new one went back on easy. I did however submerse it in hot water first to kind of even things out.

The hardest part was figuring out the part needed from so many little pictures. The actual repair, a piece of cake!

Had to e-mail GE for electrical schematic. Checked voltages to compressor. Jumpered compressor to see if it would even come on. Found bad run capacitor. Fixed.

Both PartSelect and GE advisors told me to remove/loosen screws holding gasket to the door. This model has no screws. After pulling to old gasket from a corner (very difficult) I found that it is held in place by pressing it into a channel running around the door. Very difficult to line up the proper parts and very difficult to slide/adjust it into place. When finally installed, one corner of the gasket protruded so that the door was not flush and actually kept the door from closing. I tried to push/pull it into place. No good. Finally I tried to hammer the gasket back to make it flush. No good, as it evidently crushed the magnets providing the necessary holding power and produced gaps. I finally had to get foam window stripping plus heavy duty magnets to pull door to frame. Result: door closes OK but some moisture collects around door.

easy pry out, disconnect wiring, connect on new switch and press in switch.

Went online to find a replacement part - found it right away on partselect.com. Ordered on Saturday, regular delivery. Part was delivered on Tuesday. Would definitely recommend!
